Does X-stiff shaft lower flight profile for driver?

guys, i recently watched and discovered in golf channel that using a x-stiff shaft for driver can actually lower the flight profile with lower launch angle. pls give your comments, esp those using x-stiff shafts for drivers.

i'm using Diamana X-Stiff shaft on my Nike Dymo2 10.5 loft...launch is still pretty high.

Instances of low flight will be when i tee up lower and address at least 2 balls away from my heel.

Just my exp using X-stiff shaft.

hmm what swing speed can justify a X-stiff shaft ah btw....

my understand is as below :

swing speed of 120 or 125mph and above can use x-stiff shaft

ball flight is a funtion of below :

1. Shaft kick point
2. Loft angle
3. Swing path
4. Location of CG within the club head

I doubt i can hit 120mph swing speed Laughing

But it's my preference over a regular or stiff flex, just don't like the whippy feel.

I oso prefer hardstepped S300...dun know if i can play Xstiff

get the real Diamana WhiteBoard 73 or even 83. There are also many other less expensive but popular models

I think so too.....look at the baseball game, most of the ball (except for those homerun) are very low flight... cheers

Think it also depends on the kick-point for the shaft too. If you want lower ball flight, why don you just change to a driver head with lower loft??

i m now using a 9 deg loft with stiff fujikura speeder shaft, mid kick. so a stiffer shaft wont help?

It's not the shaft flex that changes the flight profile, it's the kickpoint. Get something with a high kickpoint if you want a lower flight profile

maybe it is your swing?
impact position?
flipping?
hanging back?

i think a launch monitor AND a pro looking at your swing on video would give u a better answer.

Well it's best to see the figures on a launch monitor for an expert clubfitter to prescribe the shaft and driver required together a professional golfer's opinion. Some think that their ball flight is no ideal due to various reasons. These 2 solutions would solve the doubts one might have over their ball flight.
