| Usually when I hit a bad shot, I would laugh at myself and the worst exclamation I made is " CHAO KEROPOK !" (bad keropok) kekekekekek....and that to myself and not to anyone in particular and in a good nature kind of way because the rest of the flight mates usually will laugh which keeps everyone entertained rather than become quiet and serious. | I played with a student not long ago, and he carried on like a pork chop throwing, spitting, swearing etc. I actually got P****D at him. Told him I have been playing the game for 30 years, (yes I am old). I still practice 1-2 hours per day, and I still shot 95 in a PGA event. I have the right to get angry.... But I dont, birdie or bogey I am the same, there is no point in anger. Only makes you play worse. (Worse than 95 boo hoo I hope not ....) Anyone that plays once every 2 weeks and practices less than once a week, and does not practice positivly has no right to get angry on the course.... |

All of us need to refine the art of throwing clubs, here's some guidance.

| Golf is a crazy game. The more cool you are, the better you play. However, the moment you play a bad shot and lose your cool, it's a downward (not to mention frustrating) spiral from there. I curse when I play a bad shot. I'm not polite I should try to be more polite and less aggressive. I'll try... promise! _________________ "A ball will always come to rest halfway down a hill, unless there is sand or water at the bottom." Henry Beard

| The "F" in golf is the frustration everyone goes through after hitting a bad shot no matter what their level of playing skill, but it's how we decide to handle the frustration in the end that matters to the company we're with.
Play with the kind who curse and swear, and our behavior will be likewise, lulling us into thinking it's the norm for golf. Imagine if you end up in a corporate game with total strangers and you suddenly erupt, what will ur flightmates think? Play some corporate golf, and you will very soon understand how to control urself or risk embaressment later. Representing the good name of your company will rein you in fast.
Like shorthitter said, what right do we have to be angry at our level? The pros play for a living with every stroke meaning not only a difference in dollars, but in deciding who is champion or an also-ran. And they get fined on tour for uttering an obscenity. Doesn't that tell us something about this gentleman's game?
We all feel the frustration, it's just a matter of channeling the anger and frustration into something positive for the next shot. I've muttered my fair share, and I still say the odd one or two if the company is right, but not with bad energy spitting out of me like fireworks. Mostly, I just run through the shot again in my head and analyse it in preparation for the next one. And sometimes, I have a eureka moment, and that brings a smile back to my face, and I can't wait to hit the next shot and get it right. Being pensive and quiet is way better than exploding. You know the old saying "If you have nothing good to say...."
In the end, we are supposed to enjoy golf. |

| MC, u reminded of myself when i first started to play competitively, but time had helped me curb my own little devil......
we have different prorities now, work n family come first lah, golf should be a afterthought lah......
but i like your spirit, its not easy to acknowledge your mistake, even harder to correct it, i hope u succeed
may not be all true, but how u play golf is a reflection of your character...... |

| Ur definitely on the right path MC, Ur way past the first step of acknowledgement. Even got it broken down to 5 stages of degeneration.
Once you crest the hill, it's all easy coasting. Just don't say "Omm..." when you play, and I'm not sure if saffron orange is quite Ur colour. |

| My bad shots usually are accompanied by the phrase "cannot pick up" in chinese. Not vulgar at all but still gives me the satisfaction of letting go some expletives.
Don't understand?
How about "Na Bu Qi Lai" |
