Dan, I think it's really up to individual.

for me, I love my burner 08/09 hybrids. I tried Eiji's Ping Hybrid or Techno's Cleveland Hybrid - doesn't work me.... and yet they swear by the clubs that those are wonderful hybrids....

I suggest you just drop by at the SSN every wed, can try around people's hybrid...

Haha...

I like Cleveland hybrids. I find them easy to use.

That said, what works for me may not work for others (Dave's point is spot-on!). So, what's the best hybrid? Well, that depends on your swing, preferences etc.

I recommend attending one of the Starry Starry Nite sessions at MBGC on Wednesday. There are a lot of GR golfers there and you can ask to sample their clubs (well, ask nicely). You might find something which suits you.

In my bag, I carry the Cleveland Launcher 3H and Mizuno MX-700 4H. I can hit the 3H better. The 4H is a little wild for me.

Hi Dan

Yupz. Its subjective. One man's meat is another's poison.

My fav hybrid is this old maruman H5. Cant even remember the name. Tried selling it for $50 but no one was interested.

I used to hit my Ping G15 hybrids really well, but since changing my swing under another coach, i am struggling to hit the G15 hybrids. So using my lame swing as an excuse, i decided to go back to using my first hybrid Cleveland Launcher 2009 4I hybrid, and also purchased an Adams V3 3I hybrid.

so yes, what works for me better may not be for you. go have a hit with a few of them and decide what yields u better results.

Or if you really not sure where to start, you can refer to Golf Digest hot list :

I can agree with TS's comment on Cleveland Launcher 3H (2009 version), they are so sweat and easy to hit. Strangely, the newer version arent as good as the older ones.

Some people swear by the Ping G15 hybrids and the Taylormade Hybrids. I can't swing it to save my life. I am using an old Nike Sumo2 hybrid and a perry gear hybrid. Works wonders for me.

Having said that, Try as many different brands / models as you can, note down the specs and make comparisons.

PS: as per the indusrty, Adams makes the best hybrids. I have yet to try it. Can't find it here in Vietnam

for me, no matter how many times i try, i can't get a good shot on the new Rescue 11 Hybrid. But using TM Burner 08 and 07 Hybrid, i can strike almost every ball.

I even try Adamn Hybrid, not as well as the TM though. I suspect something to do with the weight, the Rescue 11 seems abit that heavy. I also tried i15 and G15 hybrid on the same day, i15 also cannot hit. G15 50/50.

Best hybrid - one that I can hit out of rough, uneven lie, fairway bunkers, from tee box basically anywhere!

I had used Titleist 909H, Cobra Baffler Pro and Srixon before. They are good, I can connect head to ball, ball flight is another issue...haha...

Had been and still using (or abusing) my favorite - Giga Nasty Boy - 21*.

Just got the Adams Idea Pro Black series - 18* and 20*. Fitted with a stiff steel-fiber shaft and now still getting used to them...

No love for Mizuno MP CLK hybrids? They're good enough to kick my 909H out of the bag.. works wonders for me.

I'm a fan of the Cleveland Hybrids as well. Mine is as old as the hills, Cleveland Halo 3i which back then was 22 deg (that loft considered 4i now). I tried the Hi Bore XLS long time ago and they were so so easy to hit, just pick and drop the club and the ball flies high. The Hi Bore XL which came before was strangely harder to launch.

Anybody got 3i and 4i Cleveland Hi Bore XLS regular sitting around gathering dust, let me know hor. I want. Very Happy

I cannot take Ping's hybrid offset lie... so it's the head that makes the difference for me also....

its like any club in golf... one club can be heaven for one person but hell for another... yea you can read all the ratings and reviews of the clubs in magazines... but the highly rated ones may not suit u... key is to try to have a go at as many as you can... my G15 4H, was one of my first clubs i ever bought... did loads of reading and found it to be highly rated... i bought it but til now cant hit it consistently... so it stays in the bag(for chip shots... heheh)... have hit others and found them to be better..... so read, demo and buy...

Depends on the player. I'm using the first gen of the Cleveland Halo hybrids. Started with a 3i, liked it so much I got the 1i, 2i and 5i. Only left 4i. If there is one on sale in the forum, would also grab it. Very easy to hit.

The only cobra left in my bag is the hybrid, I find it quite easy to use.. But since Titty release the 910, I will definitely be trying it out.. Oh yes, I see that alot of players carry Adam's Golf hybrid, I never tried one out before but I think if it's lousy I won't be seeing it so often..
