| Hi fellow SBs, Pros and all alike.......
give me yor views .....is it really more forgiving?
Anybody has the same inclinatinon as me ...as I am planning to move back to my 400cc driver?
ps: I tried to rationalize with one prominent GR member here that he should give me more strokes if I use smaller driver.......but to no avail. |

| Its F1 season again. Does smaller cc engines 'handle' better? To me, its still e person behind the steering wheel |

| I dunno. You tell me. Mebbe this pic can help you answer the question. Same line/model, different year of make. _________________ Stay Thirsty My Friends...

| thanks bro S70B.....quite obvious.
but here is the bad state I am in.....with the 400cc...I feel that I can whack the thing and do a nice follow thru.....which cuts out the side spin which is the main cause of why my ball flights does 'power fade' when I am using my 460cc.
yes....I will be going for a fitting with my driver once I find the driver head which I am searching....
any advice? |

| I have both 460cc and 440cc drivers. Funny some 460cc seems bigger than others of the same volume. IMO, smaller heads gives better control while 460cc is for distance, from a same swingspeed. |

You're not mistake Wu Song, some 460 heads do look bigger than others, it's because drivers are now wedge shaped. The face being the flat end of the wedge and the rear of the clubhead being the pointy end. If you look at the TaylorMade Burner Plus in S70B's pic, you'll notice that the driver's shape is more trapezoidal, with both a flat front and back end. Drivers have always had this more traditional shape up till the first few generations of 460cc drivers. The simplest analogy to explain this is to take two ballons filled with water of the same volume. Step one flatter and you'll see that the flatter one looks bigger from the top down even though it still has the same volume of water inside of it as the rounder one. |

| Agree... then again, it will be another question of shallow face or deep face. It's a 4ever quest for the most suitable tool for the job. |

Well in general, shallower faced drivers work better for the average golfer as they have a lower CG, helping to get the ball up in the air. Deeper faced drivers with their higher CG work better for those with much faster swings. The higher CG helps to generate a more penetrating trajectory, helping those who launch the ball high enough already or too high, to keep their ball from ballooning. Which is why better player and tour inspired drivers tend to have deeper faces. |

being a newbie to golf i never really thought of drivers that way.... i have just come to terms with my 910d2 driver and driver swing... hitting it a fairly good distance.. i wldnt mind losing some distance if i can get more control.... oh man... this is poison.... i suddenly have got the "lets change my driver" itch again.... i have changed my driver 3 times the past 10 monthes.... can u say callaway razr hawk tour driver?? or 910d3 or nike vr pro or diablo octane tour.. lol |

| I have just tested 910D2 with Stock Shaft. I was surprised by the performance. I dont have any stats... I just know and see the ball go where I wanted and its looooong. Overall, I only have 2 words to describe it, Very FORGIVING. |

I thought its preference. People who has the habit of flooring the driver will go for shallow face to rectify that. Or for that matter, tee height. |

| Rather than preference, it's physics. You may prefer a deeper faced driver, but if you don't have the swing speed, you'll still not be able to launch the ball up in the air. Conversely, a higher swing speed using a shallower faced driver may launch it to the moon.
Not sure what you mean by flooring the driver, do you mean hitting the ground first before the ball?
As for the height of the tee, that's adjustable to always have roughly half the ball above the crown of the driver.
