Actually does it make any difference?
I doubt whether using Umbrella Brand or Dog Brand will yield true speed as advertised

Dial Up FTW

I was on starhub free 3months trial.
Direct connection gave decent result but wireless really cmi,
many suggest to dump the huawei gateway.
I signed up for M1 during the pc show and will be getting it fixed next week.

do you need that speed atm, if not wait a tad longer, once more households have access to fiber networks the competition for those signups will intensify.

its not so much of the speed issue but more of 'get it over and done with'..

i am finishing renovations for my new place and previous owner did not get the free cable-pulling thing last time... my electrician now has already laid trucking and everything for me in case i want it next time. i was thinking of signing up now and let the ISP guys come in and do it now when the place is still messy...

difference from regular internet is about 10 bucks difference for the whole package... so it is not much issue anyway... so i was thinking why not?

but i am just concern about issues like dropped TV when using internet.. and stuff like that...

i have tried it before, starhub fibre trial, for 3 months. Dec 10 to Feb 11
It's not very stable, occassionally get dropped. Speed wise, feelgood , but after a while, the feel becomes insignificant. (Feels like using a new club but after a while, it's time to get new club!) haha
am still quite comfortable with cable now
just sharing...

I'm using fibre (SH) now for a while now. Very happy with it.

Direct connection is good but wifi using huawei really CMI so I use my own router for the wifi and expand my coverage using aztech home plug.

Downloading high def (1080 or 720p) movies are really a breeze... can complete 20-30Gb within few hours....
