That is the phrase which I like

On golf channel, they were talking (again) about Thomas Bjorn and his collapse in 2003....soemthing like 2 shots lead with 3 holes to go....where he cant get out of the bunker.

He just replied that one has to deal with it and move on.....CLap x 10....

many times, many had spent moaning about what if.....but here is a guy who missed out on what could be his biggest win and just said ' Deal with it !!!! '

ON...the next time I miss my birdie chip........I am going to Deal with it !!!

Ps: In case anyone want to ask why 'chip', coz I seldom GIR....hahahahah

What irks me more is their incessant discussion bout lack of US domination on the majors as if it is their right to dominate the majors...
And why euro players shun the uspga tour... And the blah blah about their tour being the best...
Yawn... Deal with it!
The best player for the week gets to win the major. Simple as that
If u read the reader's comments on golf channel .com some of them OT into issues about hurting the US economy (when they talk bout Rory Mcilroy's Ireland)... Dunno wats up with that
But lots of euro bashing is my takeaway from that...

Many in the US are ethnocentric, not to mention the announcers there are catering to that audience...so it is not out of the question for them to discuss US players. No different than if you watch the Euro tour and their talk of the Euro players.

The PGA Tour is the best tour in the world right now. They have the deepest fields week in and week out. The Euro tour is amazing and I am not doubting the skill level of any of the players on that tour. The reason why many Euro tour players shun the PGA tour is due to the restrictions of being a full time member and the requirements that go with it. The world golf events are by far the best events (aside from majors) and those events or mini tour should be considered the best as the fields are typically as deep as the major events.

US economy talk is complicated enough and hard enough for skilled economists and experts to figure out...no need to have golf writers with no clue trying to get their two cents in.

I am from the US and I hate bashing of anykind. It does not make sense. I like and respect the Euro tour and the players on it.

I agree that it is hard to listen to some of these blowhards and their dimwitted comments all the time. It is taxing on one's self control and I find myself scratching my head at how they got the job in the first place....

Nothing against you or the US, Dan. I'm cool bout it, just an observation from my part
America gave the world a lot of innovation (besides golf equipment, Tiger Woods and a decent tour) Apple products, google, Facebook to name a few. And for decades, the US consumerism has propelled the world economy. The world is evolving. Powers are shifting. Bob Dylan sang - the times they are a changin...

US vs somebody...it just makes good TV ratings, US audience still get excited when its a US vs the world competition.

Its like EPL, even if the England team is crap, the EPL is still more popular and supported.

Interestingly, here's a quote from Lee Trevino in the July issue of GOLF Magazine. He said "I always thought the Europeans were tougher mentally. The travelling is tougher, the climate is tougher. I think their short games are better. They don't have the manicured courses like we have here." Of course to be politically correct he adds at the end "The Americans are just as talented though."

I think the proof really is in the pudding, which side of the big pond has been taking the lion's share of the majors of late?

Perhaps the pros playing the US tour only are becoming too one dimensional playing only their tour. Like Trevino said, they have manicured courses, yet often there have been all kinds of gripes about the course conditions they play in, too fast... too bumpy... and so on. Getting complacent as well? The prize money is so good, they don't have to win to make an exceptional living. How often do the US pros travel out to the rest of the world, let's not even mention Asia, to play? Yet even with the restrictions of the US tour, many European pros make the effort to play in the US.

Big nod though to Phil Mickelson who's traveled here for the the BSO even with his illness. I've seen him go out of his way to make sure his all his fans get an autograph. Even when his manager said it was time to go, Phil said no, he didn't want to disappoint a single fan.

Separately, the title of this thread reminds me of an observation while at the Barclays Singapore Open. It's getting really funny how some pros are so sensitive to camera clicks nowadays. Understandably it can throw one off, especially when there's an army of photographers like at the majors, but I was the only one stationed at a particular hole. Most pros who saw me took it in their stride, understanding I was there to do a job as they were there to do theirs. But a few made quite a fuss of no photography, including YE Yang (puzzlingly) who had at that point only just won on tour. Allow me to state that I was not in the way and I had on a press armband. It was like I suddenly became the elephant in the room they could not ignore. Yet at the hole close to the monorail, there was piledriving going on just outside of the course barely 5 metres away, and these same pros who found camera clicks sooooo distracting, were able to tee it up and drive straight down the fairway with no concern to the 90 decibel din just beside them! Go figure....

Earl Woods used to train young Tiger to focus and ignore distractions by jingling coins in the pocket and even knocking over Tiger's golf clubs in the middle of the backswing. Yet once he got on tour, camera clicks sounded like pile driving to him. So much so he gave his caddie carte blanche to manhandle photographers and throw their cameras in the lake.

Why can't they deal with it Question

maybe cause they've tasted the $$$ they've won on the game.
I don't think they mind you taking their picture, pole dancing, singing chinese opera etc when they were in the range or in a social game. But when a few million is in stake, I guess people get really sensitive over anything.

Sure, I understand that, which is why I'm careful not to disturb them and am out of the way. I also use a camera that is dead silent.

Thing is, all are playing for the same huge pot, but only a few are super sensitive about it. It didn't bother Phil Mickelson, yet YE Yang (who wasn't contending by the way) was paranoid about it. Tiger was trained to shut out distractions, yet on tour, camera clicks are like shouts in his ear. Doesn't add up and leaves me scratching my head. scratch

It takes all kinds I guess..

Camera clicks bother the hell out of big Phil too..

Couple of years ago, my dad was photographing at Singapore Barclays open too.. My dad clicked (his bad) just as Phil was taking his swing. Whether due to the click or not, big Phil sliced big time to the right, and he really let go at my dad. I believe this incident was even reported in the media..

Yes ladies and gentlemen, i have a infamous dad!
