 | Subject: Ouch! My back hurts... Wed Jul 20, 2011 1:28 pm | |
| Hi all, Hurt my back recently, and been suffering some strain on my lower back... I will love to have this treated soon...
Can some bros/ sistas suggest some (tried and proven) good clinics for treatment? I'm looking at Chiropractic clinic, traditional Chinese treatments or maybe physiotherapy. It will be great if you can share your experience, ie.the number of sessions before recovery. And lastly, what was your damage for treatment?
Thanks... Looking forward to some recommendation. |

| ok.. same case with me but different cause and I still have slight problem now since I am a bit stubborn and destroy the muscle again with deadlift.
Anyway, I did went to the following which helps. Thong Chinese Physician Block 128 Ang Mo Kio Ave 3 St 12 #01-1841 S560128. Mob: 98525552 or 65528086.
For massage I haven't tried it out yet, but stretching does help (not on day 1 / 2). Give sometime and don't do sudden movement. It will heal in time but you still have some stiffness on your movement then you will need to go for massage or physiotheraphy.
good luck

| Give Dr Poon a call. I highly recommend him as it is golf specific
Asian Golf Fitness Institute

If it is your golf swing that caused the injury, come for a free swing analysis and I will be able to tell you why you have injured yourself and how to avoid it happening again
Cheers

| @dmateo - can you kindly share the kind of treatment you received at Thong Chinese Physician? Was it acupuncture or some heat cupping treatment? @ Paul - thanks for the offer to look into my swing. Have always been interested to find out more of the right side swing. But meanwhile I got to fix my stiff back 1st... @cwpei8888 - you're right! I'm seriously looking into fixing my condition & swing to prolong my years of playing. @tronos - I'm suspecting it's the spine. It gets really stiff in the morning and the 'cracking' sound whenever I do some streching. I do hear these sound sometimes during my practice (swing) at the range. Any advice to share? |

| Just increase ur stretching before a game. First shot of the day mostly a driver or wood so best to get the muscles stretch. |

| hi bro, it was muscle and bone realignment ( the guy used accupunture also but not sure for what). The pain decrease considerably at that time and he will tel you to keep you posture correctly going forward and also relax the muscle by either stretching or massage to get it back to where it used to be.

| from personal experience, very stiff lower back in the morning need a while to 'recover'. Over the day can feel something pressing in the lower spine area, especially bending over but not painful or very uncomfortable.....its a sign for possible bulging disc.
Best see doc to get scan or x-ray (can see got bulging disc or not). Latter can decide which treatment. Even Chinese doc need to know if got bulging disc.
BTW treatment is continuous, no short term.

| ah yes. that one will be. Mine is thankfully not that one. I'm ok standing / lying only when I'm doing certain post it's painfull (initially). Now it's more stiffness and discomfort. It's normal for muscle to inflame when wounded just like when you bump your head on the wall, you'll end up with a bump . It should go away in a few days. If it does not, then as our friend indicate you need to get MRI / Xray to check on the disk. The funny thing, I play my best golf with back like this as I don't excert to much force and proper form. It really change my perspective on golf swing. |

| damn i know how you feel man.. i injured my back trying to get that extra 10 or so meters by whacking the ball.. while it did go the extra few meters my back cried hahaha... but i stopped playing for about 3 months and now (i think) its kinda healed up.. only way to fix the back is to cut down or stop swinging it for me at least.. |

| Thanks for all the advice ppl!
This morning, I decided to pop by Atlas Chiropractic clinic at FAR EAST Shopping Centre, 5th floor. (Haha.. Can see golf stuff after treatment)
Thank god, my situation was not because of golf. It was because of the way I slouch in front of my comp during work for years. Just had my spine( neck to lower back) re-aligned and I'm feeling fine! *it's unbelievable!* will have to go back next week to have it checked again.
Just to share one advice Dr Terence Yap gave- " Go swim back stroke to build your lower back strength, it will help you alot in your game..."
