I have to disagree here Lee..

I have a narrow shot through the trees and I can pull it off maybe 40% chance.
But i punch it to fairway and then proceed to duff the next shot.

Sometimes its better to fail spectacularly than to play safe and fail like a bloody beginner.
In my case I try to hide the fact that i'm still a beginner. ROFL

Wah, thanks for reminding me, now I don't feel so jealous of the long hitters. Very Happy

It's the only hole short enough for me to get two on, that's where I got the only eagle ever in my life. Damn tricky green to putt though.

Don't be.

Siddukur Rahman routinely outscores longer-hitting Danny Chia on the Asian Tour by virtue of his deadline approach shots, short game and putting. Siddukur practices 6 iron all the time, when asked why, he says because he can't keep up with the big hitters, he has to make sure his 2nd shot is on the green.

wah really ah? 1 eagle in your life?
damn tricky green i agree.

THE only one ever.

Still remember the putt.... a two tiered three metres uphill breaking right, ball stopped at the lip before a final shudder, falling in the left side of the cup. I jumped up in the air like Phil Mickelson when the ball dropped in. : D

Lucky!!!

I call that skills... so how many strokes you are giving? ROFL

Two-tiered in 3 meters? Wow, that is one undulating green.

Tricky to even put it close when it comes with multiple tiers like that.

What a satisfying eagle it must have been.

Deciding how and when to play risky shots is a fine art. Pull it off and you're a hero, crash and burn and you stay a zero.

If I feel I can't commit 100% when addressing such a shot, I'll not hesitate to change my mind. Problem is, when one is committed 100% to such a shot, one never changes one's mind... even if it's the wrong shot to play. albino

Indeedy it was, yet I forgot about it even though it was just last year. The mention of the traffic light hole triggered the memory of my first and only eagle ever. When it tumbled in, the whole flight gave a shout along with me.

Don't think I'll ever make that same putt again in a hundred tries, it was the perfect combination of speed and the two feet of break.

It's making me feel warm all over just thinking about it again.
