I finally conclude my initial testing of the new Fubuki K. I got a few all-black (with no markings at all) demo shafts and a tour-issue TM-graphic.

I had a few reviews from friends in the U.S. of A. and they all seemed quite promising. This is one shaft I much anticipated. So, when the packages arrived mid last week, I was like a kid in a candy store. All excited, I put one shaft (60X, TM-graphic) in an R9 tip and began hitting balls on Trackman right away.

Initial testings on the machine looked promising. Both R9 and R11s gives better result compares to other shafts that the players are currently playing. But, with any new shafts, I didn't get overly excited because my past experiences taught me: honeymoon period!

After hitting countless of balls and testing a few heads (R9s and R11s), I realize that this shaft is something special. Just before a day before my weekly game, I decided to shaft a 60S to my trusted Adams 9064 head. A few balls to run-in the shaft and I started comparing the new combo with my old one: Callaway RAZR Hawk Tour with GD Tour AD DI-6s.

Again, Trackman testing indicated that the Fubuki gives me better launch, better spins and better ball speed. I can't really compare the feel of the two shafts, because we are testing on 2 completely different head characteristics but I must say that I never liked (and got along) with any of the previous Fubukis. But with the K-series, I feel the shaft is smooth and stable. I can feel the powerful kick of the tip at impact, yet it does not feel loose at all.

Consistency is key for me when choosing a shaft and the first round I play this combo I (surprisingly) did not miss a fariway! I got a nice, high, boring trajectory but it didn't balloon at all. I got good carries and still rolled out more than my previous setup.

More testings are to be done, hopefully we can do some with different heads. Awaiting reviews on: Burner 2.0 TPs, PING G20 and Titleist 910. Also, a TM's fairway wood with 70X.
