LOL, i share your sentiment. Often see, or very often i saw some guys, young or old, tee from blue tee and play par-4 macam par-6. When i saw these ppls tee off, i hold my breath, hoping to see some great, far and pro drive. boommzzzz....barely pass red tee (then i walk to white tee with confidence already).

the funny thing is that, they still tee off 18-holes from blue tee!!! OMG....i'm almost faint liao...

For me its simple... I call the marshals and asked them to check if the flight in front ought to play from Blue or White. Its usually very easy because each club determines who can and cannot play from Blue. No need to sweat thinking about it. While we players do our part to keep in pace, the marshals also need to do theirs and make sure players stick to the right tee box.

I think it's also the speed of play and not the drive distance. Some senior golfers are fast players, and they should not be penalised/ generalised, even if they can't drive far. Some senior golfers in my home club drives only 180m, but nobody tells them to drive from white tee box. They don't hold up play, they don't look for balls, as their balls don't "stray" and their "gimme" is full putter length ROFL

Oops.. liddat I need to improve a bit more before I can tee off the blues..

So, fellow GRians.. If you unfortunately end up in the same flight as me, we got to tee off white...unless I can improve by 2 pts in the next couple of months... albino

I never have a problem teeing off different tee boxes in Warren. Most importantly, everybody must on standby and ready to tee off n not sit in the buggy, waiting to drive to the next tee box.

personal experience from a guy who is transitioning from white to blue, a bad drive from blue will definitely have an impact on your second shoot.
Last game in Seletar, barely clear rough and landed some 20-30 meter from the start of the fairway, all the second shot on par 4 are above 160m, with some 200++ meter to make it on the green. My only saving grace is I'm ok-ish with long iron (4-7) and woods (3-4). Otherwise I will be dead for sure.

I do get the message though, wait in white tee until consistently driving 220-230 carry. Gonna be a long wait for me Sleep

recently, i played in airforce/navy and one of my firend has a hcp of 22. we were told by marshal that we hv to play from white tee.

we didnt ask whether we can play from both blue n white like when we always play from blue and red if there is junior or ladies in the flight.

it makes a lot of difference to me bcos my tee shot is not long n my short iron is relatively strong. in the end, i played only 2 over in airforce.

thterefore, i think it depends on certain golfer whether it is easier when playing from white or even red. for me, i think it will make a difference!

golfers who still struggle to play from white shouldn't be ashamed to try playing from the red. Even for once in a while, even if the sole benefit is improving pace of play while we are improving ourselves.

I define struggle as not being able to play to maximum allowable handicap i.e. 36.4 for men, or scoring 108 off the white tee on that particular course.

another benefit of playing from the red is to give us a glimpse of what would our score be if suddenly we gain 50m+ extra distance off the driver. Will it matters or not? If it doesnt, means its your iron and short game is still SHIT. If it does, mean yea we should buy the latest and greatest driver/shaft in the market! hehehehe

USGA defines it as FORWARD or RED tee rite? They are not defined as LADIES tee Laughing
