I want to buy a golf club

I have chosen two from many clubs by the price and quality

But I do not know which one is better?

Who can help me?

Check out BFG Forged irons. You can get the forged iron set fully customised to your specification, including grip size. No wastage, no redundancy !

Demo day happening today at Keppel Club driving range.

BFG Keppel also carries the Callaway irons so you can test out and decide what really suit you.

Cheers,

There's really no such thing as to what golf club is better. If you are a beginner, then I would suggest getting an inexpensive beginner set (preferably cavity back irons) because you'll have a better sense of what you want after playing a while. If you are a seasoned player, then go for a fitting session.

Size of your hands is a non issue and the thickness of grips can be addressed at any fitting outlet.

I have been playing golf close to a year. As a complete beginner it does not matter what club to use until you get a hang of your swing. I would suggest you get the cheapest set. I started with a 15 years old set. After about 6 months my coach thought that I could manage forged blades and since then I have been practicing on blade. Of course, others may have a different approach.

Personally its a matter of what u believe in. I.e if u think u can't handle blades n wanna stick to ur cavity back, u will do fine. However when u eventually switch, u still gotta 'relearn'. If u make the switch now, u also need to 'learn' n go thru the learning curve. So its ur choice.

in my opinion, there are 2 schools of thoughts.

1. using cavity back irons, its easier to hit. more forgiving with off center hits. but in the future, if you want to change/upgrade to blades or muscle backs, you'll probably struggle with hitting decent shots.

2. straight to blades, you force yourself to train and practice to hit with a smaller 'sweet spot'

yes! no doubt the curve of swing performance will vary regardless.

and also i think blades and muscle back irons have more feel when hitting it 'pure'.

using cavity backs feels very 'assisted'

lastly, it really depends on how serious you are into golf.

my 2 cents worth. many may not agree though. Smile happy shopping!

in terms of which is better, its really personal. as a fresh golfer, i think it boils down to price, brand and design. and of course how you like the feel of hitting a golf ball with it. but with so many brands and design out there, you cant possibly try every club. like you've mentioned, you have chosen 2 of your choice. so head down and give it a good whack. see how it feels.

n my advice is, get it fitted on the first time. (length, lie, flex, weight) i believe in building the club for your swing type and body. not the other way ard. once you start nailing down the mechanics, its hard to change. start on the right track on day one.

There are many pros who are hitting way better than any of us and they opt to use Cavity Backs, or other non-Muscle backs or blades. i think it says a lot about picking the right equipment to suit yourself and gives you the most confidence to shoot the lowest possible scores you can.

Must have sound swing.. if you have it, whatever clubs, you should be able to hit. Golf is already tough enough... dun make life difficult during the 4 hours. I never believe in going for blades first. And most local pros that i know hardly use blades. If cavity backs are assisting in your game, hence i assume you will easily hit a better score when you use cavity back irons? correct?

Thats true... its just a school of thought. regardless of head shape and design, having a proper fitted club will definitely help improve in consistency.

and by the way, my swing still sucks! alot to work on. Laughing
