Hey everyone and to the readers of this thread,

Let me share something which is quite an ugly news and this really took place in our country a few years back.

#1) Incident #1, a Korean who couldn't wait drove his ball towards the fairway and almost hit the Filipino golfer. And just to make the story short. A fist fight occur where two Filipino golfers and two Korean were cursing and using their golf clubs to hit one another

When the Koreans came to the locker room. The Korean guy seek helped from his fellow Korean and they gang on the two Filipino Golfers, who were brothers

Incident #2) Another incident took place where the Father of a famous Filipino Junior Golfer cursed and was in "Attack mode" towards a group of Muslim Filipino Politician golfers.

The Bodyguards physically hurt the father and son.
And the Golf board member removed the membership of the father.

You know when you hear this stories, we just have to be reminded to always stay cool and act Gentlemanly in and out

"Just always be reminded that there are still people acting UNEDUCATED"

I think these personalities are in the wrong hobby. Martial arts might be a better choice. Something like no-rules full-contact cage fighting. Both the world of golf and martial arts would benefit.

Yea man!! Real one!!! Its was one of my most memorable games. Played with 3 retirees. At Tee box 1, all act like virgin in front of the starting marshall. After that, the beers, the cigars, the portable radio all start comig out. Was just starting out in golf while they were playing for like 7-9 years. But they welcomed me with open arms!!!!

so when are you giving me this induction course.

I second that notion bro... but I also occasiionally fall under the category of swearing in the course.... haha.. tak gentle lah ...but its just spontaneity after hitting a bad shot...

I can't imagine spurting words like "Super" or "Great" or "Fantastic" after flunking a shot. Its just a natural reaction. But it stops there.....

Personally, I never join flights by "walking-in" with total strangers; exactly what I want to avoid like ur experience bro begbie. Sorry to hear that.

Dont worry though. As I always say: A bad day at golf is always better than a good day in the office, ANYTIME Beer

Not every one is what you think they are. I have people who joined my flight in MBGC and they are wonderful people. Sure there are rotten apples in a box but then again it's down to pure luck. I don't mind others joining my flight or would be happy if others don't mind me joining their. Trouble is I do not have enough friends playing golf on weekends. That's what makes it difficult to form a flight. Many of my friends can afford to play weekdays. Sad

"stepping on line, marking using a driver tee, not picking up the pin when closest to pin and everyone's on green... etc.."

to be fair, the second couple did not do much wrong except for the stepping on the line, ...the wife probably is a beginner...stepping on the line is a very common mistake among beginners...also they way you remind them should not be too rude...from your sentence, it feels like it was a bit rude (most likely emotions over spilled from the first pairing), the polite way is to politely inform the person, maybe even in a joking manner to break the ice, never talk behind their backs to their partner, it rather rude (even worst is talking in front of them to another person about them), ironic as we are talking about etiquette here. This way she learns something in a positive manner and everybody gets along. Hope the fact that they are foreigners did not play a part.

..using a tee as a marker is not against the rule (ask the pros)...picking up the flag when closest is also not a 'rule'. its probably just your playing style and etiquette ..not everybody does the same.

Its looks like you were angry at the first pairing (rightfully) and unfairly took it out on the wife.

BTW the first pairing sound very jialat BUT remember MBGC anyone can play with swing test..so a person could simply hit a decent ball and play on the course without knowing any etiquette or rules of the game......(yes i know real beginners that can hit a decent 7 iron...and just the 7 iron)

worst players = those behind that hit so fast, balls landing near you......its simply dangerous. ironically its the 'better' players that are guilty of this...the real good players dont act like this ( play with a few of them already, all single handicappers, played 70+)

which brings me to the 2nd worst golfers, "pro" golfers.

"pro" golfers are decent golfers BUT the amount of time they take to finish putting is longer than a group of beginner hacking their way to the green!!!!!! If one cannot sink a putt within 3 putts, then dont keep marking your ball and furthest putt first!!!! Also if you need 1 min to line up a 2 footer everytime, then might as well dont play golf.

dont get me started on the 5 min lost ball rule.....its not a competition...

True enough, I figured someone would have mentioned the driver tee, well true, no fault at that but one has to be there to understand what I mean. Secondly , she was already having a bit of bitch fit with her husband and scolding him for giving bad advice. On hole no.3 she practically went balistic with her husband when he only made remark about her drive.

Appears already that doesn't look like she was enjoying herself.if there was anyone taking oout on the wife I believe she took it on her by being so hard on herself.

Most times my partner will try to lighten the mood by injecting some humour and making small talk but it was already tension between ithem making it harder to do so... We found that her husband was more approachable so we came to him instead coz he seems like a pretty nice guy.

This experience is a learning curve for me and will definitely guide me on how to approach this situation again should it arise but in no way we were taking out on her wife. She practically self destruct on her own

Nevertheless I won't do anything different from the way I did.. if you had only been with her you will know what I mean... I pity her husband really..

This episode serves as a reminder for me not to throw a bitch fit on the course as how it will affect others in the game.. and I will see how I may apply ur advice in future situations.

LOL when you mention the bitch fit at her husband after a drive..i realize that maybe they already had a bit of a tiff before the game......in this case you are very unfortunate to get 2 very bad pairings in a game!!!

LOL almost a difficult as a HIO.
