I just came back from Pulai (I am a member there) and after 6 months of not playing there, all I can say is dont waste your time there. The fairway is either botak or infested with cow grass. You can hardly find an bermuda grass left. The green is also botak - no its not sanding of green, its just screwed. I played both Melana and Pulai and just thought I share with fellow forumers not to end up like me feeling frustrated after the game.

Hi Pak,

Agreed I too just return from a weekend there.

Played Pulai (Sat) and Melana (Sun), the course needs maintainence esp Melana as both fairway and rough seems to be in poor condition.

Pulai course seems better.

Will be playing Horizon Hills on 20th, hopefully the course will be better esp after the recent Iskandar Open.

Anyone played Austin recently? I have not played there for a few years now. Use to be my favorite course until the landslide and everything went down... Sad

Just came back from Poresia today. i dont consider they have rough, once your ball not on fairway, it consider O.B. You will never see it again!

Wasting time and wasting ball if u cant hit the ball straight. White Flag

When playing Poresia, your ball have to be on the fairway. Simple as that. Rough = Die. Smile

My personal favorite training ground is Daiman 18, because:
1. Reasonable rate.. Rm110 all weekend.
2. Fairway n green condition is reasonable.
3. Buggy only fairway.
4. Near to 1st link.
5. Food at the chinese restaurant is good.

That was my training ground as well when I started golf. Being a public course, conditions cannot compare to those members' courses. But what the heck, being a beginner, who is comparing? I like the tight and unviewable fairways. If you train there, you can play any course in the world. I passed out from there and now plays anywhere without fear. Cheers.

Nice course, but was soggy prob due to the rain over the last 2 days, i think reasonable price also.

Am still cleaning my gears….. Smile

My 1st time at Horizon Hills this morning ... Super sloggy. Heard from a regular there, once it rains the ground gets really sloggy.
That explains my poor score today. Haha
Beautiful course

I triple that as well. Pretty much agree with all your points, especially then 5th point about Beijing Restaurant!

Also to add that the greens are fast and not that easy to land on as well. And while the fairways are tight, the rough is forgiving.

Played at Orchard GCC (Kulai) - Buggy on track due to soggy fairway.

Play landed but cannot run ...

Lost ball not into the water nor rough but at the fairway.

Overall - Weather was great.
