Fav training ground in JB is legends n Ochard. Always did sun afternoon, no ppl. Rm110. Wide fairways with no one chasing u. Good training ground for beginners. Abt 45 mins drive from 2nd link. Legend has good nasi kampung goreng while orchard has practically nothing to eat.

It was a weekday game. Nice course although the front 9 was abit soggy due to all the rain.

Agreed!! Legends is a fantastic place to place. Great amenities and fairways n greens are very well kept. Orchard is good as well just poorer in conditions of their amenities.

Hi Mac,

I always play in Legends, but never knew about the nasi Kampung goreng, is this at the clubhouse?

Greens are not too good. A lot of bare patches. Give it one more week to see if there is improvements.

But if u are looking for a workout, nothing beats walking JGCC.

Update on Tanjong Puteri Village course (B course):

Fairways in great condition, just small patches of waterlogged area but no plugged balls

Greens are a little slow though. Green speed is announced at 8.5 but I think it is about a 7.

Tees are all the way to the back yesterday and the course is playing very long!

I would recommend a game there.

Typically tee-off is about 1230pm and we're usually back by 6pm if you're travelling through Tuas.

Maybe you can try IOI Palm Villa. Heard the course is also quite relax and enjoyable. Great fairway and good caddies.

Oni some idiots golfers drove their buggy inside e green where club rule stated buggy on track! Thus they were behind us always as we take our time since we walked to our ball! Arrow
Another downside re tat there're many flights of Korean players fm their golf academy. They're outstation fr 3 mths playg. And they re gd! Believe me! On Green

I played Ponderosa on Monday.

Greens were quite fast and well maintained, some had a lot of sand on them for maintenance, but that did not really slow down the greens a lot.
Fairways were well cut, some bad divots however. Can we please all put sand in our divots are put back whatever you hit? It woudl help courses a lot.
Tee boxes, perfect, nothing to say about it, well done!
Rough, not easy but also not too difficult.

Course is in very good condition I would say (compared to other JB courses).

I am playing Legends this weekend and hoping for the same good conditions!

Ok, played Legends yesterday. Water + Palm course.

Water course is in ok condition. Fairways are good.
Bunkers however are in bad shape (as far as I know this has been the case for the last months). Green are very firm and quite fast.
I do not like the water course, since it is quite long, somehow I never bring home a good score!

Palm course is in great condition.
Fairways are good, rough is difficult, but ok.
Greens are very very very nice!!! Color is good, speed is good, greens are a little softer than the water course.
Binkers... no good in my opinion. Some very sandy, other very firm, other completely dry + rocks in it.

Great day of golf, bad scores unfortunately. Next week: easy course ;-)

Hi All,

Is it an unspoken rule to tip RM50 to the caddy?

There are no caddy fees charged by the club. The caddies are not being paid a salary by the club. Their livelihood is based on the tips that you give them.

Minimum RM50.00

I usually tip my caddy RM60 because I have a heavy bag. If he is able to find my errant golf balls and keep up with my walking pace, provide good line reading and ultimately leading to winning some money, I will tip him additional.

As I have noted in my response, the club does not charge caddy fees.

You pay the caddy directly after the game, thru TIPS

I remember paying legends caddy fees. What you mean is that the club will not pay them a base salary?
