| Hi People,
Just wondering if any of you feel (or have felt) this way ...
Where I used to look forward to games on the weekend ... now ... it seems like a drag
Used to knock off early and looked forward to practice ... now ... clubs only appear for games
Golf does not feel that fun anymore ....
Anybody felt this way before? Is there a cure? _________________ ======================================== What's in the Bag

| Play with mloy or the Bad Boys... Up your stake once to 500/500/1000.
After that, you'll either love the thrill cause you've won so much money or you'll have to continue playing for life cause you've lost so much money. _________________ Clearing my Storeroom of golfing goodies. | yeah it happens to me too. especially when my game started going down. but i guess it's all a phase of transition. mind less about scores, bet with smaller amounts, focus more on camaraderie and you'll be having more fun. out of nowhere, you'll hit a magical flush and there you go, you're back loving golf |

| one way is to try out new things and constantly upgrading yourself...example try new driver...new way of hitting your irons....you can even try gaming with your friends at the range...saw a few very experience uncle playing at the range recently and they are challenging each other for which distance and flag...the final loser pay for some chicken wings...fun and healthy... |

| I always look forward to a golf game. If I play badly I want to play again to prove that I am not that bad. If I play good I want to play again and see if I can do it again. So I am always looking forward to the next game. And not forgetting my flight mates....we are always laughing and have a good time whether our game is good or crap. So I feel flights mates does make a difference. You must be playing with some boring people to feel this way. _________________ Laughter is the best medicine

| No worries Derek... the exact same feeling happened to me before. It was so bad that I gave up golf for one whole year in 2004... when i picked up golf again in 2005, I gave up on trying to improve and accept the fact that i will never be a good golfer... then i started to enjoy the game a lot more... the joy of getting to meet new friends, share a joke with kakis, getting time away from work and laughing at some ridiculous shots i hit/mishit makes the game more enjoyable than trying to break par. |

| I have been there, still there actually. Found that i was stagnating in the game, and there was no improvement in my overall game, so playing was no fun at all. The situatuion has gotten better now, after i took lessons from my pro, and the results are starting to show on course. An eagle last week, a birdie every round is sure dam motivating, i tell you. Not like before when a bogey golf round was all i could muster. |

| Thanks for the comments all! I still enjoy participating in the forum though As for large bets being a cure ... I am sure that will motivate one to train hard, but I am not so sure if that will reignite the passion ... also ... I am really lousy under pressure ... if i bet large amounts ... can't play at all ... so need more strokes to compensate It is not that I am unhappy with my game or frustrated with it ... it is the apathy that is scaring me ... whether birdie, par, bogey or others, does not seem to invoke any kind of reaction ... make long putt, miss short putt, win money, lose money ... all the same Maybe I should go play some stupidly difficult course and get raped by it and see if I get a reaction ... _________________ ======================================== What's in the Bag

| Too much of a good thing is bad :-). Been there once. My remedy was to set my self a goal and then just go for it. |
