Am not sure about Palm Villa. Anyone played there recently that can give feedback.

Horizon Hills is nice but a bit expensive.

Horizon also soggy fairways. Not worth it to go there now.

Generally most JB courses would be in bad shape now.

Played tg puteri plantation course last week. Fairway good condition but buggy on track.

Maybe you can try Daiman 18, just finish a round there, the fairway is all right but since is buggy on course, on some holes, you can see some buggy track on the fairway.

As this is a public course, there is no booking but walk in only.

Cheers

Ponderosa could be a good option. Most courses in Johor are constructed with low budget and quick profit in mind with practically no deep sand beneath the fairway. Even the bunkers are flooded.

Was there yesterday morning. The fairway is terrible. The rough is worse. And the bunker also flooded. Lousy drainage throughout. But what we to compare with cheap membership and little maintenance. Only the green is in satisfactory condition. Play only in good weather or take the challenge to play in this terrible conditions. Sad

Yup! Saving grace was the greens.
Spoke to the Marshal, seem they holding back on maintenance during this period Coz pointless.

Funnily, some Korean Academy came down to Poresia to train in such adverse conditions.
Guess it would do them all the good when they play tournament courses.

And boy, do they play good!!!

Thing is the worse the course condition, the more people want to go back and get tortured. Very Happy

Played in Horizon last Fri , after that day I learnt a few things about playing in rain soaked condition and abide by the following..

1. Make sure I sign contract with flightmates if ball in fairway plucked and cannot be found can drop another ball. I had 3 incidents ball plucked and 1 of them my partner insist ball lost and take 4th stroke from fairway pig
2. Never wear spikeless golf shoe in rain.. cheers
3. To make sure you dun end up screwed by point no.1, make sure get a caddy who got good eyesight so can find your ball.
4. NO USE of hybrids, woods from fairway unless u can get clean contact all the time everytime at any time... cyclops

If all else fails, dun play in rain soaked fairways.. Stay home and watch Golf Channel...
