Hey Guru's

I was using a Linksys wireless router, then for some reason it kept rebooting itself, so I went and got a new one, it was working fine for a few days.

Now I can see the wireless network but i cannot connect to it.

If i put cable straight to modem I can connect to internet.

If i put cable into back of wireless router I can connect to internet.

Does that mean my new wireless purchase is faulty?

Why would it work fine then just give up?

Hope someone can advise thanks.

Sounds like your wireless security is giving you problem, preventing you from getting onto the wireless network. check your encryption key again.

i know that for me.. every time i introduce a new device that needs to access the wireless network, I have to input the new device's ID (it's called the MAC address) into the router. This means that only those devices that are in the router's list are cleared to access the router.

Not sure if it could be this.

Call the internet service provider helpline.. and they may help u to troubleshoot.

Are you using a Mac with Lion OSX? If you are, it's been known to have wireless connectivity issues. I can vouch for that.

Put it this way - if you haven't experienced it, don't worry.

It seems to be erratic. Some wireless networks only, not all. Not sure what the cause is and there's no resolution yet. Do a search online and you'll see the masses who are complaining.
