My flight mate seems to hole every putt required to win me.

I just got back from what was an awesome afternoon. Some feedback Smile

We all got there in time *yay!* BUT the weather turned nasty and it rained for a good hour or so. As such, we all ended up teeing off a little later than planned. It was a semi-shotgun start so not much time was lost. The great thing about the rain is that the entire afternoon was cool. There was no scorching sun. The breeze was fantastic and it made playing the course so pleasant. I couldn't have asked for a greater day of golf weather.

The downside to playing after the rain is that the course gets damp. While irrigation on the fairways and greens was alright, many bunkers became water hazards. I plonked my tee shot on the 10th hole into the middle of the fairway bunker and had to use my golf ball retriever (full extended) to recover the ball. That's how much water was collected.

Aside from the wet bunkers and semi-damp fairways, the greens played well. This is my first time at The Legends and I hope it won't be the last. The fairways are nasty and accuracy is an absolute must. Balls are easily lost if they end up outside the fairways since oil palm trees, jungle and water line the fairways. There's no "borrowing of fairways" here Smile

I ended up losing 3 or 4 balls but really enjoyed myself in the process. I had a great flight comprising hoelwil, botak and swerve. It was mostly tcss the entire game and where we weren't tcss'ing, we were ball-hunting Smile It was a blast.

Some highlights:

1. Watched Mrs. Khee almost ace the 15th. Her ball stopped about 2 feet from the pin. I bet that if there was no rain, the ball was have rolled all the way in.

2. Watched swerve hit his 2nd shot on the the 3rd (I think) which ran all the way down the buggy track. It was a brilliant use of the track Smile Ended up with a super long run Smile

3. Watched hoelwil send his tee-shot so far and straight on one of the Par 4s that it overran the fairway into the rough just before the green. Crazy long!

4. Got us some coconuts and a water bottle which was placed in a nefarious set-up. Wait for the pics.

5. Watched botak bomb the fairways with his 3W. This bad boy outdrives the drivers. Ouch!

Overall, the golf outing was a lot of fun. Food was pretty good too, though I suspect that we were all really hungry so it didn't make much difference what was served.

Kudos to the organizers and Who8168 for arranging this unforgettable get-together. This is the 2nd in what I hope will be a long line of great games to come!

So.... where are we playing next month? Wink

Wah nice summary bud - was a pleasure meeting both you and Will as well! I'm not a serious betting man and my kinda golf is when we get on a crazy flight like ours where laughs were going round twice per minute (ok maybe I'm exagerating a wee bit but hey its all good!).

Very enjoyable trip!

Many thanks to the organisers and my very patient flight mates!

Did I get James Walker? I thought you gave him to botak? I'll go check. Haha!! Hope to play with you again soon, bro. On a positive note, congrats on the great news! Play now while you can (as will I) Smile

Duval_S, yeah, no need to feign stress already. Can play at the next GR game... Starhill?

Thanks for the kind words and all the very best to you too bro! My son is due anytime soon now and so I wont take the chance and play out of Singapore during this time. Enjoy your time on course while it lasts buddy!

Thanks again to Moon and Sunny for organizing the game and Frostee or her father for giving everyone a surprise 'door' gift.

I enjoyed the company of my flight, JLChong, Mojojojo and MT.

Thanks to my flightmates for their guidance during the game too.

Pretty satisfied with our caddy as well, she is damn good in finding balls that went haywire and gauging of distance from pin. Single handicapper somemore!
