When you are doing a golf full swing, the only thing that hold you on the ground is your feet. Your feet are designed to help you stabilse your legs' movement and create balancing during your follow through of your swing. How you do the setup on your feet will determine your stabililty of your whole body when you swing your club.

Practice it for 10 sessions, you will FEEL it
Practice it for 20 sessions, you will SEE it
Practice it for 30 sessions, you will LIKE it

I think the better way is to go gym to workout to strengthen our related muscle group. This problem occurs on me as well...so today sacrifice the driving range session to go gym and have a 2 hour session of workout...i pretty sure it help...

Yes, the lower torso serves as the foundation of the golf swing. Besides that, it helps to power the swing to a large extent.
