Like many, first started with a cha pa lang set.

Slowly , I purchased my first set which is the CG gold with graphite stock shaft.

After achieving a key milestone, I took the opportunity to upgrade to a player irons...

So here is the problem....since then, I could not match my best scores (83-85)

With my game improvement set, I managed to play a few times in mid 80s...and that was even when I tot I was not hitting it well.

Today....when playing with the players iron, I tot I was hitting well....AND even putting well, but ...NB cant get that score.

could it be I really used up all my good shots?

Bro DS, I have gone through the same cycle and believe many have also walked down the same path.

A lot of us always have the mentality that we must progressed to player irons when we reached mid handicap and I believe this is mostly due to vanity and/or ego. Depending on the user friendliness of such irons, which generally it is not, we tend to change our swing so that we can hit better with such clubs. Over time, we may have created flaws in our swing unknowingly and that is when our ball striking abiility has deteriorated to such an extend that it has shaken our confidence.

Try going back to beginner irons and you may be able to play better golf.

Nothing to do with your golf set.
You are short of focus.
To improve on that, play bigger cut-throat.

just like Duval I also bought a players iron set too.

One thing I noticed was my distanced got shorter. Due to the stiffness of the shaft and my shots were not as crispy. Somehow it affected my mental approach to Golf.

I would suggest you to moved back to a GI ( Game Improvement ) irons. And focus on that. And have your swing checked by a Good Golf teacher.

We sometimes swing something odd which we do not noticed. And it needs a tune up check by a golf pro.

Happy Golfing
