I owned the Mizzies MX 300 and MP 53. Was torn between the Miura PP and BFG. So I took all four clubs to the range and for two weeks, played with the different 7 irons on courses.
1) MX 300 very forgiving and good feel but with offset, shots would sometimes hook. Was R300 shaft and then switched to NSPRo 950 R. SOLD
2) MP 53. Played one of my best games with this set but dents easily. Soft but surely some durability would help. Used NS Pro 950 R. Friendly but punishes you on toe shots. SOLD
3) Miura PP - Great irons. PLayed with Nippon Modus shaft. Lower flight than NSPro. RETURNED
4) In the end I went with BFG for the following reasons:
a) MX 300 and MP 53 fitting was limited to two disinterested sellers who adjusted the lie after five swings.
b) Miura - Huge investment, good fitter but missing X factor
c) BFG - Great fitter, great facilities and man, they were patient with my questions. I stand tall cos of my back so shafts are 1/4 inch longer and +1 for lie. Club head is slightly bigger which helps with forgiveness.
End result - 7 iron went from 130 m to 145m (carry). With KBS, shots are straight and man it bites. I am given the option of going back for further fitting but with a weaker grip, been playing good golf (sometimes). Best experience? 11th hole Serapong. Drive went right on fairway, had 135m to middle of green but three storey high tree in front of me. Go for it lah, I figured with 7 iron. PLayed ball forward, open stance slightly and prayed. Landed 10 feet from pin. Swore I'll never let go of my irons. Shhh...don't tell the wife.

Chrislzh, I have the same feeling as you. Also gaming the PP-9003 but the miura-giken version with NS pro modus 3 shaft. Best set of irons I have played. Also played my best game of 78 at warren last month. I have played epon, mizuno, taylormade, titleist, but non came close to the feel of miura. To me it has the best X-factor among all forged irons in the market.

Welcome to the Miura club bro.

Bro TLHeng,

Wow, 78!

Bro Lee36328,

Can you imagine the feeling I have at the end of the game. Went home and polish my clubs. 2 weeks ago, I was playing at the empire golf C.C. in brunei. I could not belief myself hitting 7 straight Pars from hole 1-7 followed by a boogie and a double boogie. Ended the game with a 80. The PP-9003 and the modus3 shaft combi is just fantastic for me.

Hard for me to imagine the feeling.... coz I've not done it yet!

If it were me, I'd probably send my clubs in for detailing.

Well done and keep us posted on future highlights.

Apologies in advance to mizuno fans, but their irons cannot compare to Miura in terms of feel. Worlds apart. Also, the player's iron models are just as unforgiving as the miuras. Only plus point, relatively cheaper.

BFG irons, on the other hand, are superbly balanced, forgiving and have great feel as well. A premium product at a value price. Assuming you can make decent contact, unlikely to miss by much left or right. Drawbacks? unknown in the mainstream.

Miura. Great story. Great feel. But unforgiving (except for the Passing Point) and priced in the premium segment.

Miura vs Mizuno? No brainer.
BFG vs Mizuno? Also no brainer.
Miura vs BFG? Now that is interesting ... How would the products fare in a blind test against each other? That is a question I would love to design a consumer experiment to answer.

I'm not a good golfer but I happened to try all the 3 sets before. IMHO, it's up to one personal preference, there's no one set that's better than the other. It's the score that's count at the end of the game.

If you would ask me, Miura? My reply would be not set value for money. I even met this golfer, which happened to switch from Miura to Mizuno, mind you his a single hcp player as well. Why? No idea, it happened because at the end of the game, he ask me whether am I interested to buy his Miura as he was then playing with a set of new MP-62. As for BFG irons, it's a set with well made and the price wise it's reasonable for most golfer.

Lastly, world number is using mp59..........so who said must be a Miura to win.

But at the end of it, it's still one owned preference. Don't switch just because of all the comment Miura this this that that....

Yes, Wizgolf. Also awesome - just depends on where you are. I live in the East so getting to Torque Golf is easier for me Smile

I like variety Smile

Sadly, I don't think Miuras work for me.

The Adams are doing a good job.

And the BFG irons keep calling out to me.

+2 for you Bro Enwee ... Unlike a few of the above forumers' comments, your comments are objective and non-bias albeit you're a BFG users ... Smile

I also agree with your comment that - "no set is better than the others" ... This is because "What is good to you may not be good to others." If a set of clubs help you to achieve a low & impressive score, these are the clubs for you and these are good clubs as perceived by yourself ...

cheers

Nah. Romaros are for those whose game deserves irons of such a standard, i.e. those who can score eagles. For me, I need an all-rounded iron. All-rounded because I drive my golf ball all around the bloody place.
