PostSubject: A Big HI to One and All!   Mon Oct 12, 2009 11:45 am

Hiya, Been following this forum for a couple of days now and it's good to see how friendly everyone is. Haven't yet made a self introduction even though I've dived right in and made a few posts, I guess now is as good a time as any to do it.

I've been playing for the last 25 or so years hovering around the 20 plus handicap range, and it's only within the last year and a half that i've finally made any headway (shows how long it takes huh?) when I ended up working in a golf magazine. Love reading up on instruction and a bit of a equipment junkie myself, but mostly I just love the game with all its ups and downs.

Here's a quick look at what's in my bag.

Driver - Cleveland Launcher Ti 460 (10.5 degrees)
3 wood - Cleveland Launcher NCX titanium (15 degrees)
5 wood - Cleveland Launcher NCX titanium (19 degrees)
Hybrid - Cleveland Halo 3i (22 degrees)
Irons - Cleveland CG4 tour 4 to 9 w Graffaloy Pro Launch Blue shafts
PW - Cleveland CG10 (46 degrees)
SW - TaylorMade RAC TP y cut (56 degrees)
LW - TaylorMade RAC TP y cut (60 degrees)
Putter - Kevin Burns 9314 blade w 33 inch shaft

Be joining you all on the 25th of October for the game and look forward to meeting up. Cheers!

Thank you for the welcome all. : )

Lol Duval, not really show hand. Just thought there might be people interested. Funny thing is, all my Cleveland clubs were bought on sale except for the PW. The C in Cleveland's logo means Cheap and good. Think they are the best value clubs around considering the amount of technology for the price. Even better when they go on sale. My clubs are at least a few generations old, but they don't hit any worse than the latest on the market. Might have to do shaft upgrades after awhile, but I am really happy with what I have. All pretty easy to hit with, and the irons are incredibly soft for castings, cos of the cmm technology and the graphite shafts.

Gray, I did have a Cleveland LW, the classic 588, swopped it for the TM y cut cos of the groooves, saw the spin (when I hit it right), and I never looked back, lol. Have a couple more of the new z cuts on standby for when the grooves wear out. So don't think I'll be going back to Cleveland wedges anytime soon.

Lol, very easy to spot them. Can't bluff one.

Thought golf was supposed to be a gentleman's game?

You know, I see a lot of talk on so many subjects, but I don't see any one discussing the ettiquete of the game. Which is just as important, considering there are so many beginners here.

Because it's always sad to see divots not replaced and bunkers looking like the sands of Iwojima.

many golfers do not realise that failure to repair divots ball marks spoils the fairway and greens and thus would increase maintenance cost and in turn increase green fees. Not to mention spoil others' games.

Sunny, may I suggest that there be a permanent post somewhere with the etiquette of the game and the reasons behind such for the benefit of all, especially the beginners? Since we proclaim ourselves to be Singapore's active golf forum, might we not champion the cause of the game and it's etiquette at the same time?

It really is a pity when people complain about course conditions, not being aware that the little act of repairing divots and ball marks, as well as raking bunkers go a long way in helping the course's maintenance.

good idea! do you want to start the ball rolling? we have a section on rules and ettiquette but it is not highly utilised. Maybe you can start on it first and i'll sticky it and add more later. I am sure everyone would chip in later.

Why am I not surprised that it's not highly utilised, lol.

Can do, i'll get round to it soon. Lemme draft something up.

Would be good if the more seniors here help to educate the juniors as well while on the course. Or the post can be there for all eternity left unread, lol.
