The clock method doesn't work for me as the speed of the swing actually dictates the distance.
However, if I use the feel method, it is not that consistent. So how?

Me: choke down n full swing or pick longer club - halfswing n hitdown (if I need more spin).

Play short if you know that the next short will be your odd distance.

Same, i use feel for odd distance with varyin clubhead speed upon impact.. But then sometime result not consistent..

I tried to implement a clock system in the past but very often i losed the smooth momentum swing as my mind keep remindin myself to do swing at 3oclock or watever oclock..
Too much of intention in my mind durin swing..

For 50m, do I choke down 2 inches if SW give me 70M?

TigaWood..i cannot offer tips on techniques but I can offer suggestions on equipment Laughing

If you're having gaps on the short distances and you're not a "seve" type of player who use one wedge for varying distances, then maybe can consider making your WITB less crowded at the top and add a wedge

e.g. 3H (20 deg) and 4i (22-23 deg) maybe too close together. Maybe can replace with a 22 deg hybrid. 5iron usually 26-27 deg.

if your PW is 46, then play 50 55 60 wedges
if your PW is 48, then play 52 56 60

how many times you need to or can be precise from 170m? how many times you need to or can be precise on 50m shots?

I think by far the best solution to my experience is still the up/down adjustment of the grip to vary the shots of odd distance as mentioned by some bros here. Smile

Try to feel more consistently?

Only way is to keep practicing on the range. For all the distances in 10m increments.

how to not 3 putt? avoid the green altogether, and chip closer
how to drive longer? tee from the red

I get what you mean.
But my concern are the odd distance like 45, 40,35, 30, 25, 20, 15.
When bettings are high, these are the cruial ones Laughing

I dont think even the pros can do it lah.... sometimes when you demand or expect too much, things will be worst. I dont remember any pros has that ability to put the ball to pin high on every single shot.

Bro, not true leh.
Next time watch how the pro do the recovery.
Ayway, they hardly have these problems.
Because they are very "Choon" on their GIR.

Bro SBH, I am pretty sure your short game is better than mine so I am really not qualified to give you any advice on techniques on this ...

As a feel player, and a good player, you already can execute the shots you want, just not each and every single time you want it. In other words, you are searching for consistency.

Why not head down to any executive course, camp at one hole, and practice all the distances you mentioned? If you do it often enough, it stands to reason that your feel for any given distance will improve.
