I'd recommend a 2nd hand set first (and there are lots of good options here). If you're new, go for a set of cavity-back irons which gives added forgiveness, e.g. the old but gold Callaway X-20s or Mizuno MX-100 (or even MX-200).

Don't get carried away with buying new stuff since you are paying a premium for new stuff which may not suit you. Pay less first, get used to the game, enjoy it and once you're comfortable, invest in a good set.

Most of us here have 2+ sets so believe me, you'll have a lifetime of buying golf gear. No need to rush into it now. Just make sure you find something affordable which gives you a chance to play some golf, practise and have fun Smile

After that... once the bug bites and the buying starts, there'll be no end Smile

Wish I read this b4 I got few sets before getting the right set that work for me. Thx! CheersA
