true, yesterday his drive almost reach us again on the par 4 when he took the tiger line.
if he gets the KZG, he needs to tee off last in the flight and keep 1 hole gap or 15 minutes gap Smile

Ha ha.. He either tee off first and then can finish faster, thus buy the beer first so that the rest of us can enjoy the beer when we finish later or he can tee off after all of us have cleared the 3rd hole then he can play the first hole.. ROFL

so the big hitting buaya bite people again?? hehe

This discussion gets me thinking along the following line:
A better equipment will help you play better (score lower) but does not necessarily help to you become a better player (it's the club, the swing is and player skill stays the same).

I'm a noob, so I might be talking rubbish here, but any of the long timer can chip in and share some light on their personal experiences ?

Here's my two cents

Properly fitted equipment as well as a well-built swing make the most difference in one's game. Properly fitted means

- shaft flex is optimal for one's swing speed (and expect to change to stiffer shafts as you improve and your swing speed increrases, and you trade additional distance for increased accuracy)

- correct lie angles for your height, length of your hands to the ground. Clubs that are too flat will result in a tendency to fade/slice, while clubs that are too upright will create a tendency to draw/hook

- swing weight is also important. Personally, I prefer a more head heavy setup as it allows me to feel the club head during the takeaway, and promotes lag on my downswing due to increased inertia.

With properly fitted equipment, one need not worry about about equipment acting tendencies that would distract one from developing a neutral swing.

A good coach would be able to build a sound, consistent swing, from driver to putter, allowing one to play to the best of one's ability

I am a seasoned beginner...so I think I qualify to comment since you said long timer.....

Well, many times including myself I had seen golfers struggling to find the right correction to his or her game. So with proper equipment and including fitting, it will help to narrow down the actual problem with one's game.

you see, if one had the proper equipment and fitting, then the problem is no longer with them.....and such, its the person the person sees in the mirror.

With the elimination approach , one can help oneself to narrow down to the source of the problem.

PS: Don tell anybody my secret, I am still in self denial as I had not gone for fitting.............................(yet)

I see your point Duval.
It takes a way one of the equation of the problem.
My worries is more onto those forgiving club with say 9 sweet spot etc. There is a danger that it might give false comfort of hitting well when you're actually not.
But then again it can also keep people motivated throughout their development...

Time to get my club fitted then.. Smile
