Cleveland FTW.

This is an old hybrid review but you can get a sense of the technology behind the major brands and which ones are more appealing today.

Funny how Adams dominated then and still dominates today Wink

seems from that article that tailormade is not good with hybrids in general though i have seen quite a lot of people using it in range

Here just my personal opinion, do not believe everything you read. After-all, you are the one using it. It can be the best hybrids as the whole world claimed. If you do not hit well with it, it is just a "flower vase"

I am using the old TM 2009 hybrids, really easy to hit (for me). I suggest you try different brand of hybrids to see which model suit you before buying.

Try Adam hybrids seems known to have best hybrids.

Try TM hybrids year 2009, if you can still find it.

The only Taylormade model tested in the article is not known as a forgiving club within the TM range.

Try any of the old burner (or the newer super fast series)

As Pak Slicer (with 21 trophies) says, try it, don't depend on reviews

Pak Slicer, definitely not making fun. 21 trophies is a great achievement! Hope I can get an individual trophy one day!

Interesting topic. I've never had much success with hybrids. Bought and tried, cobra, TM, cleveland, callaway razr hawk, and ping. I sucked with all these brands. Any bro can recommend other brands of hybrid that plays more like an iron? Thanks

Sorry bro, no offense... It is not the brands issue, I think it is in your swing.

However, if you are those that can swing a 2, 3, 4 i well then I do not think you need any hybrids club

Quick tip that should help you choose Kyleann, put two hybrids side by side. When viewed from the top down, If one looks more iron like with a slimmer profile and squarer face shape then it plays like an iron. The one that plays more like a wood then would have a rounder trailing edge and more bulbous crown with more volume to the head.

Hope this helps. Very Happy

Why don't you try a wider sole 'utility' iron? Eg Mizuno MP Fli-hi. Looks and plays exactly like an iron but much more forgiving cos of the wider sole.

i recently bought a tourstage X-blade UT to replace my 5 iron and i really like it. although i'm trying to find a lighter and softer shaft for it.

Thanks for the tips guys!

First and foremost, I think I Slicer51 is right. I think its my swing. Do we swing a hybrid like an iron (with compression and divot) or like a fairway wood (more sweepy)? or does a hybrid has its own swing technique? Care to share your thoughts please?

As for the different hybrid shape, gosh, tried them all (flat like the X-blade UT, or bulbous like the TM burner) but still no confidence hence zero idea what's going on with the club.

Personally, I'm one of those that think a hybrid is essential to have in my bag, basically to try for those long par 4s and short part 5s. At my level, woods are just too inaccurate. Unfortunately, as a club, a hybrid is a very frustrating riddle for me to solve, and it's the club I keep changing the most. Very keen to learn and solve the riddle!

Am I the only one swinging both hybrids and woods with compression and divot?
