Hallo.. Sorry for late posting.. Here is the review and pictures of one of the courses I played 2 weeks ago in London..
It is situated south of London.. As taking the train and then cab was just too much hassle, and being a visitor with no local to help, I decided to rent a car instead. Rental of the car was about Gbp60 per 24 hours block..
Time journey from central London to golf course was about an hour, the slowdown was more within London itself...
I emailed the golf course directly and booked a slot.. Lady managing the reception was friendly and most accommodating.. They did not request for a guaranteed booking fee either. On arrival, I just paid Gbp135, self collected my locker key, changed and off I went..
Was given the Old Course at Walton Heath.. 1st hole was already a 190m par 3..
Initial feeling was great, thinking its an easy links course..
Then I realized it's almost impossible if the ball was to roll into the rough or flower beds...
The weather was great, but when the wind blew it was freezing.. One issue I realized was in cold weather it is harder to keep the body warm and agile...
Perhaps that why many golfers rather carry and walk the courses.. Even man's best friend likes golfing..
It is rated 4 star, but I felt it wasn't so worth it... Fairway and green was as good as MBGC.. But you pay only S$88 here in MBGC..
Stay tuned for my next review.. Wentworth !
