News from :http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2012/10/01/indonesian-workers-stage-strikes-wednesday.html
Indonesian workers to stage strikes on Wednesday
Multa Fidrus, The Jakarta Post, Tangerang | Jakarta | Mon, October 01 2012, 10:05 PM

Thousands of workers in eleven provinces across the country plan to stage massive strikes on Wednesday, demanding the government raise wages and eliminate outsourcing and the current contract-employment system.
The Congress Alliance of Indonesian Labor Unions (KASBI) announced on Monday that KASBI representatives in Samarinda, East Kalimantan; Batubara in North Sumatra; Palembang and Prabumulih in South Sumatra; Semarang and Surakarta in Central Java, and Yogyakarta would hold simultaneous protests in their regions.
“Labor unions in prominent industrial districts like Bekasi, Cimahi, Indramayu, Karawang and Subang in West Java, Banten, Tangerang and Jakarta will also follow the strikes,” KASBI chairwoman Nining Elitos said in a press release.
Chairman of the Tangerang Raya Workers Union, Poniman, said that at least 100,000 workers would gather at 27 industrial areas in the city, including Balaraja, Batu Ceper, Cikokol, Cimone, Ciputat, Karawaci, Pasar Baru, Poris Plawad and Serpongand.
“We want to deliver an apology [ahead of time] to commuters and residents whose activities might be disrupted by our strikes,” Poniman said. Workers' strikes often cause severe gridlock and traffic diversions in some spots.
“We demand the elimination of outsourcing and we encourage all companies to ditch their contract-based employment systems,” he told The Jakarta Post. (cor/lfr)

the caddies there have low pay and on contract. just pay them more to protect you. remember, full protection is the safest.

Better not go, you going to enjoy, not for work, so how to enjoy with a place is unstable.

There is also a good chance that you may not even arrive at the golf course due to jams, immigration issues etc, during this period.

Don't set yourself up for more disappointment.

I tell you ah, when people go on strike heads become hot like potatoes without thinking. It can develop into a riot. When it develop into a riot, everyone within their arms length (especially if you are a foreigner) become a victim. HELP Shocked So, my personal opinion, SAFETY FIRST. pale

The airport highway is massively jammed somehow (based on my friends report) due to the factory workers demonstration.

Thank you. Decided to change game to poresia. Can someone shed ligh on how to get there in the fastest time? Their website showed a route that takes 20mins according to the lady on the phone.

Any senior that frequent poresia and care to share your drive route?

Thanks!
