What is the quality of a good Captain?

To clarify, I am not talking about my lumber fai pattern of Captain. That one is easy. Just don't show up.

but seriously, what are the qualities of a good Captain? Is good golf a required quality?

I would think that a good Captain should know the skills of his players well and able to strategies and make pairings for golfers to complement each other strengths or make up for each other flaws.

MC in case you are wondering, you are not the candidate for Captain in case we take part in the BT golf league 2013. neither will Duval.

The Real Master, I never wondered. I know my capabilities and I never dreamt of being any Captain of any team. I know I am not worthy.

I only know my own game well (which some people here would beg to differ) and I am always so pre-occupied with my own game and have a hard time counting back how many strokes I took before I read the green. I hardly have time or the energy left to analyze my opponents' or kakis' game and find out his weakness.

I am just trying to invoke some serious discussion here before this board devolve to a 'hi', WTS and trolling forum.

MC.....you already possess the qualities of a good captain at work, at home and in the forum (sort of) except for the time that you pose as a voluptuous and foxy woman using another nick.

speaking of which i sense that same scent of role change in the air recently. maybe its just me.

so like a good business man, you go out and create opportunities and not find them. finding opportunities is going to the PGA show to find something to sell. creating opportunities is going to the PGA show to sell something.

Got it?

Eric,

MC can always be the captain if he pays the pre-game dinner cum strategies discussion session after the dinner. ANd you needs to know that being a captain doesnt means he is going to play..... Smile

The Real Master, noted and got it.

Arch-Nemisis, golf is no longer about scores, distances and letting-go of clubs...

Its now about the company and BRAGGING RIGHTS.
