Hi GRians,

Was playing with my buddies last weekend and we came to a point where by his ball was rested on the buggy track. I understand that here is a free lift from the track but the question is, does it matter if the ball is rested on the right side of the buggy track or the right side? Our fairway is on the left where the right is the fairway of the next hole. Apparently the ball rested on the right side but the lie is quite bad so my buddy said that he is able to drop one club length any direction.

Thanks alot

According to my knowledge, if your ball is nearer to the left edge of the track u drop left and if nearer to right u drop right. But not nearer to the hole.

He must find his "nearest point of relief" he does not get to choose where that is.

Then he gets one club length, it is not one club length from where the ball is sitting.
