think the count is about 170 (nos) of bunkers in total...

btw, there is a promotion staring 1 Nov 09:

buy the Golf Malaysia magazine on the spot for RM10, cut out the discount voucher and get 35% of the green fee... think it works out to RM120+ instead of RM150 (caddy fee included)..

every course is suitable for beginners! you just come back with different scores! not that beginners often keep them anyway.

Just go and enjoy. Bring a little more balls than normally cos you have to hit across water quite a far bit.

I would also consider Palm Villa. Its also quite friendly for beginners.

I agree with sunny. HH is a very well kept course (by JB standards). Nice lush fairways and greens, reasonably helpful caddies, although green fees are a little ex.

As with all courses, course management is important. There are many sand bunkers, hit short if you think you can't cross them. Likewise for the water obstacles. Hitting one stroke more is always better than taking a penalty. Maybe try to "warm-up" at Marina first before heading to HH.

And yes, Palm Villa is definitely more friendly to any golfer - although the greens these days are much to be desired. Played there last Thursday - there were doing repairs on various parts of the 2 courses (Palm and IOI).

Hi,

I am new here.

The trick to play a decent game in horizon is to aim away from water hazards if possible because the Fairways slope towards water so any ball that lands near the water hazards will roll in.

Do not attack green if ball is in distance that you are not confident. Play short or away from bunkers n hazards etc.

Better to be short than to go water or bunker including Par 3s.

Dun play from blue tee unless u r low handicapper.

Please let me know if u guys are going because I would like to join and know more friends.

i hate this course the fairways is like comcrete plus because my driver is 250 meter i cant use it often in this course which make me bored because this course is more a course managment and curracy with iron because there is a lot sharp dog leg and pretty narrow , but i love the speed of the green whic was 10.5 last time i played there .....

Can't drive because your distance is 250m? If you ask me, that's the ideal driving distance for Horizon Hills because it clears all the hazards and tiger lines very nicely, provided it's on target. If your drive is 200-220m, then you really want to think twice about taking out your driver on certain holes.

Btw, I use a laser rangefinder whenever i play, that's why i'm so sure of the distances...

My 2 cents - golfers shd play any course and manage it well to keep scores within their handicap.

I second that... 250m will clear most of the hazards. Played at HH twice and both times struggled to get myself out of all sorts of trouble cos i don't drive far enough Embarassed .
