| Currently I don't think there's a universal way of measuring shaft stiffness, at least not one that has been adopted by all shaft manufacturers. Miyazaki has adopted it's own unique shaft flex code that seems quite logical and hopefully could gain traction with other manufactures. Anyway Comparing CPM data provided by shaft manufacturers is inaccurate across different shafts because you don't know which part of the shaft it is being measured, and how it was measured.
Identifying your shaft flex/torque should also be done by gauging your swing transition and tempo.. Tom Wishon has some excellent articles on this topic on his website.
So... I guess knowing the CPM is a good to know for me but is it absolutely critical? No. I'd just go swing and test out the different shafts rather then look at numbers to determine my fit |

| so which one more important..the shaft that suits you mathematically or that shaft you play well with (could be stock shaft, even a ladies flex shaft)... |

| Just curious, isn't this a bit like the swing weight and MOI fitting? But honestly, I think most of us here wanna hit the ball to fairway that's it? Is this so important?
Recently, I met this Thai single hcp, he don't even fit his club yet he's so good. I would think it's more of the player more important than such digits etc. |

| The most important digits in my swing are on the last three fingers of my left hand, and first 2 fingers + thumb of my right.  |
