If you notice, I'm using almost exactly the same shaft on my driver and my 3w. Although not conventional, this works for me to some extent. Shaft length should make no difference, cuz all you need to do to get better contact (and this may seem new to you) is to choke down about an inch or two. Am pretty sure you'll hit more than 5 good shots out of 100. Btw, I trimmed my 3w to play about 43" somewhere there. Am getting about 200-215m on a good hit off the fairway.

Of course no marketing team will promise "better contact", or "increased smash factor" because it is all to easy to disprove that claim. "Longer distance" is a good selling point because on that one special hit, any golfer can get that career shot that he will remember for a long time. This is also what keeps a lot of us in the game. They do not have to say "10 yards longer for most of your shots" because that will be too difficult to live up to, and again, too easy to disprove.

What I am suggesting is perhaps while the brands focus on distance, the stock shafts can start to be shorter in length again, letting average golfers have a chance to hit the sweetspot more often. This can only have a positive impact on our game, and contrary to expectation, probably gives more distance due to the better translation of clubhead speed to ball speed.

What I said about reduced success rate with the 3W is in relation to the longer shaft and stronger loft of the RBZ line compared to standard. I play older versions of TM hybrids myself and I like what they do for me, albeit with standard shaft lengths. You use aftermarket shafts in your clubs - did you cut them to standard, or to the original Superfast shaft length? Wink

You might wanna consider investing in a robotic arm. NO club or brand is gonna market 'Allows you to connect well 100% of the time'.
Either way, if you're only connecting well with your 3W five times out of a hundred balls, you really need to address some bigger issues and not look for high-tech arrows for a one-handed Indian.

Anyway, lets have a game together. I won't bring the driver. Wink

If you wait for GD to parallel import it, the price will be at least 30% lover than market price. 6 months down the road, the price will be at least 40-45% lower. GD rocks!!

cheers

Anyone using this? I'm thinking of buying a FW5 for it but afraid it will be difficult to use... hoping to try out somewhere before deciding.

I m using the FW 3 bought from GD. Feels a lil clunky but nevertheless easy to use. I also realised it provides lots of roll as compared to other brands/models. Distance wise, you won't be compromised. I got more distance from the roll as said earlier. Overall, no complains.

I am using the Stage 2 Driver for about a month now, i am liking it, its a good move on my R11 and Fit, I was keen on the R1, but didn't really need all the adjustments. the Stage 2 performed a little better for me, it could be settings not sure. But thus far, performance on the course has been positive. Its real easy to hit.
