PostSubject: Query on shaft weight after fitting    Sat Jan 05, 2013 12:01 am

Hi guys I have the following question.

Let's say I buy a xcaliber hybrid R flex shaft. On the website it says that it is 78g and 41inches.
So if I cut it down to 38 or 39 inches for my hybrid, that would mean that the shaft now weighs less than 78g right?

So if I want my hybrid shaft to weigh more than 75g, does it mean I will have to buy a shaft that weighs 80+ grams at the start?

I'm a bit confused cos I recently bought a shaft for my driver that is labelled 60+ grams on the shaft decal. But after cutting and fitting, it feels lighter than 60g...

I'm no club fitter, but do you think you could counter that weight loss by other means?

Heavier grip, bit of lead tape at the tip, and heavier ferrule?

hi scotty.

Errrrrrr Xcaliber shaft??

anyway, just for ur kind understanding about shaft weight.
It will take away average about 5 to 8 grams for the raw weight after it been cut to the lenght that you like it.
Normally, if you want to have ur lenght shorter then usual, is better to use something abit heavier.

cheers mate
