I was curious too, got myself a used set about a month ago LB708 4 stars with stock graphite shafts. Gaming them now. It feels soft at impact; and give longer distance, I think they hv stronger loft.

Honma lofts are super strong, you can check it on their website. In some cases, the 7 iron is like a 5 iron

Why is a Patek Philippe so expensive? Why is a Hermes Birkin so expensive?

Status drives the price. Doesn't necessarily make it a better item.

Sometimes it's a status symbol issue
At times, it's also a performance issue or a combination of both.

Expensive is not necessary a guarantee of good quality
Cheap is not necessary bad quality. My point is that 'value' is perceived by the buyer.

Is a $1,000 Crazy shaft better than a $50 Excalibur shaft?

Jason, ever wondered why Beemers so expensive compared to Jap / Korean makes? Wink wink

That people want

Good question. You're right. Demand is driven by both the desire to own and the control of supply.
