This is so useful... Nowadays, I find my driver only carry but doesn't roll a lot as compared to my other friends. Any idea?

- too much back spin
- soft ball vs hard ball
- AOA for driver
- soft ground vs hard ground( but if same flight, not a big factor)
- ball flight tendency(fade or draw)

There are prob more factors but the above is what I can think of.

heres a question on the topic....

If you had only 4 clubs to bring along... which would you bring along?

Saw this fella with only 4 clubs in his buggy in malaysia.

Driver off fairway... and pretty decent distance!

Have played with persimmon clubs (wood shafts and leather wrap grips) in Scotland, and that experience changed my perspective - that the 4 clubs in the bag of Old Tom Morris & Co is enough to get through a game. Perhaps not with a great score, but you can enjoy the game all the same.

A wood, any wood
An iron, any iron
A wedge, any wedge
A putter, any putter

Note that in place of grooves they used a sharp object to punch holes in the clubface to increase friction.
How's that for a new rule to scale back on groove volume and sharpness? Razz

Sham's PW (full swing) can cover most golfer's 7iron distance ... and I am neither joking nor exaggerating
