Are you tired of shooting in the nineties when you can do better?

Are you a 24 HCP wanting to to be a KSL strong 18?

Do you despair when your kakis get better of you?

Do you get confused what clubs to use in between distance?

Do believe that the ads for high tech new driver/irons/putter that can get better
after spending hundreds and thousands of dollars on them?(less the sexy bikini girl)

What if there is a way to help you?

Would you be interested?

Conducting a social experiment we were able to get a social golfer to shoot below 85 using only four clubs.

Yes you heard me its 4 clubs, not 15 not 10 only four!

Never in his dreams did he expected that when we started the experiment, in fact he shot 19 under his own initial estimate.
Some of the comments from the other participants.

"It was much easier, no brainer."

"I was hitting better, impact felt better"

"I got GIRs on holes that I have never GIRed before!"

"Was dialed in on the distances."

The said king of 4 clubs also did not put in extra practise or spend more on after market shafts. $50 driver shaft. The rest he said was , cough, "club selection, la". So the rumour now is that he will have a wts for all his other irons and hybrids. Stay tuned guys

I think it's the skill that matters, not the clubs. I hardly am able to play that score with 14 clubs, let alone 6 clubs. Crying or Very sad

Now the hypothesis of the experiment was to understand what can help us average joes cut strokes off with the least amount of moolah, time and effort.
We had a grp of nine golfers with a mixed of HCP, high eighties to century scores.
Most came back with better than expected scores and a few with not much changed in their scores.

One thing that surprised us which we did not expect was the time which the 18 hole round was completed.
Less than 4 hrs 30 mins average, we expected longer time will be taken due to the nature of the experiment .

After finishing the round some things we found conducting post game discussion,
- easier club selection
- better distance control
- straighter shots even with duffs, thins etc
- less OBs, Hazards etc ( mostly in the front nine, we attribute it to not yet warm up)
- increased distances claim ( to be verified again)
- GIR improvement
- improved short game

Hi, i just want to share with friends here trying to break 100.
My Honest Joe was 105.
So far my score normally fluctuate anything from 110 to 120 (depending on which coloured tee).
I put 105 as i suspect i will play better as well and of course i was really trying to break 100.
This is also my 1st time playing this course. so i was also expecting to play really bad since i never play it before. But Haragolfer was really kind to give me alot of guidance to play this course.
As i mentioned, im still bad at course management. these are some observation i found out.

selection of clubs; 3 hybrid 21*, 7 iron, 54* wedge, putter.

1) when you keep hitting a 7 iron and not other clubs, you get very familiar about the length, the feel, the swing, same for the rest of the other clubs.
2) i have never got so many pars in my game before 4 pars for this game.
3) equally let down was at the back 9 i hit a few fatties in a row and got 3, 4 overs at the end, these actually cancel off my pars.

It was great fun and i suspect everyone in the game was more relax as "hey you cant think too much only which club to play".

I am looking forward to the next 5 club game if Haragolfer is going to organise.
Will be quite sure i will play a better game!
For those out there trying to break 100, give this game a shot! you will know why!
Cheers!

"I got GIRs on holes that I have never GIRed before!"

Not possible with a driver and the approach club being a 7i. Unless of course it's off the white tee and the player can reach a tee off distance of at least 210-230m.

How about par 5 and par 3 . which make up other 8 holes. I say try it and keep an open mind for the results. And greens can have 3 club approach length. Can gir and putt , well still par. Snagy hit a final laser guided 7 iron to the green on the final hole. After i told him he was on track for a prize. Obviously, the pressure brings out the best in him.

3W, 3W Rolling Eyes

It was a long par four and he might have made birdie/par if not for his four putt.

We will be touching on that in the next post

Stay tuned

After trying it, my takeaway is that the 4 sticks 'mindset' helps in course management.

Say you have 170m to the green on a long par 4. If you have all 14 clubs, you might pick up your 3w, 5w, 3-4H or even 5i to try hit the green. Because those clubs are supposed to reach the distance..

Having only 4 clubs, you probably have only eg. 7i and Wedge, therefore you hit your 7i and then pitch to the green from 30m+. you would be short of any hazard around the green and a pitch is safer and more accurate.

It keeps us from taking hero shots. take your bogey and move on. Be aggressive on shorter holes. Thats my take
