LCB lost his Asian tour card this year

But he still mange to tie for first round lead at The Panasonic Open India
Well done LCB, hope you get your game back

Btw, he is seen donning a Titleist cap. I guess it signals the end of his association with callaway golf after all these years

A change could be a good thing for him

He and his wife had a baby last year, if I am not mistaken. Think he has taken time off to look after his baby.

in case most of the guys here dont follow the tour that closely, callaway cut almost all of their asian players, including LCB, Danny Chia and a few thai players whose names i can't spell

Cally ended all money sponsorship in asia....maybe all the money they save is going to one person..

anyway its open season this year and the cash incentive from ball brands include bonus for top 10 and winner. the bonus can be multiplied if one wears a hat and more when you carry the bag. so whats on the cap does not mean its in the bag. from what i saw last week its still a bag of callys,

the ball to look out for this year will be srixon. the cash incentive is very attractive and Prayad is the first to be rewarded in a significant way.

finally its good to see LCB making headway. he knows he wants to be up there and he will work harder this year. seeing what he is saying is great. he acknowledges that he has slacked and he will work his best to get there. he was on the range last week from early to late afternoon and it showed in the final result.

what about Thongchai Jaidee? he has been a steady player and winning regularly under Callaway. I'll be surprised if he is cut off...

for LCB, I think his weakness has been his short game. His long game is, well, LOOONNNNGGGGG.... if he can score better, I'm pretty sure he will be right back to the level that he should be

Why did Callaway end their sponsorship of players here?

was looking at their 10k filing... they've been making losses the past few years and asia ex japan is their smallest market globally. Their sales in US have been decreasing the past few years also... maybe they're trying to consolidate their marketing budget..

If that's true, reducing sponsorship of players only reduces the promotion of their products which ultimately reduces their chances of higher sales in the future. It's a short sighted approach. Penny wise pound foolish.

yup could be. but they may be trying to redirect their focus so they could be spending more in markets which they view have higher potential for the ROI

Ok I just checked http://www.callawaygolf.com/global/en-us/tour/staff-pros.html

Asian players who have playing rights in euro tour and USA PGA are still part of the sponsorship

Good to see that LCB is maintining his 1st positiion after his 2nd round at 8-under (at least among the morning flights). Pity he droppped 2 shots for the last 2 holes.

Hope he can keep it up and get that W on sunday.

Way to go LCB!

Otherwise he would have taken a 3 shot lead instead of 1 shot lead

C'mon LCB!

TJ is signed on through the European Tour and Prayad is through Japan Tour.

only those on the Asian Tour are affected. Maybe BFG should look at sponsoring players next year....haha

For the last 2 days, he has finished with bogey bogey.
Hope he can learn from it and triumph tomorrow
Come on LCB, do us proud

who ever understands and has the mind to carry out "the Art of Winning" will win today. it does not matter if one is a leader or 6 from the leader board. Sunday is a special day and it takes more then skills to win.

personally i feel that LCB is in a better position if he is not in the last flight and as long as he does not get ahead of himself, he has a good chance to break the 4 year drought. and from the interviews, its showing that he knows what he needs to do as a professional golfer.
