| I had two rounds last week. The course was pretty empty on both occasions. One was just after the election; post-election hang-over. The other was just after the opposition kelana jaya rally; post-rally hang-over. I guess the crowd will be back in full force next week; sigh! |

| Just barely finished a round today and here's my updated take.
It is definitely NOT SAFE to golf in Malaysia for now.
The weather was so hot, I could barely stay upright, never mind lag a putt.
So, the real danger is from sun burn, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, etc. Not a peep from any public disorder though.
Am avoiding golf for now until the weather gets milder. |

| Actually in Malaysia, there are crimes.....some of them includes:
Maid abuse, Bribery Assault.....road bully robbery, rape and of coz, sex for favor too.
I think its important to take precaution. |

| Think it is relative safe to go as I had a social game a week back also. Smooth traffic and as long you stay within a group and don't park carelessly.
My friends car's side window got broke in while park in a remote alley far from their makan place though. |

| I think the question now should be "Do you feel safe or comfortable to golf in Malaysia" rather than "Safe to golf in Malaysia now".
If you:
a) Feel insecure golfing in Malaysia, then better don't go. b) Fear about the unrest or rioting (which is not happening in JB), then better don't go. c) Feel uneasy about the current situation, then better don't go. d) Your gut feel tells you that all is not well going in, then better don't go in.
What if someone gave a wrong advice and say no problem going in, then something happened to you whilst there, who is to be blamed?
At the end of it, it boils down to you yourself making the final decision.
And I can safely say all the unrest, rioting, etc... is not going to happen in JB. Would you believe me?
Enjoy golfing while you still can. |

| Hi Guys;
I work in jb, am here 5 days a week. Its business as usual, cowboy town as usual.
Whatever you like to do in jb before the election, be it golf or makan or shopping or LEGOLAND, you can continue... just take the usual precautions and minimize risk. between customs n golf course, you only risk is TP ambush u for speeding/coss red light. Anywhere else, it's cowboy town rules!
That said, not ideal weather for golf though, either too hot or sudden heavy downpour causing minor flooding/ponding in low lying areas. Almost the same pattern every day. |
