PostSubject: Golf Noob saying Hi   Wed May 22, 2013 1:54 pm

Hi, I just started my golf lesson 2-3 weeks back. Absolute beginner and still trying to get a hang of it.

I need to practise and I am thinking of getting a iron to practise at the driving range. I have been told by my coach that:
-I should consider getting a Japanese brand club
- I should also consider getting a full set instead of 1 club on it own. As it will be much cheaper.

Is this true?

Anyone has a recommendation that they can make for ladies club? I was reading some threads and brands like mizuno and maruman are recommended. Is there a particular model that I should consider?

Well, first of all, let me be the first to welcome you to GR Smile

In my opinion, if you are pretty sure that you will like this game of golf, go ahead and get yourself a full set of clubs. A new set would usually be more expensive than a second hand set.

Japanese set are usually more suitable for asian, and mizuno and maruman are good brands to start with

Enjoy your stay!

s-killer, thanks for the afirmation.

louisneo: I am starting out at Mandai actually and I haven't had the time to practise yet. However, hoping to get my own clubs by tomorrow and at least go to the driving range to hit some balls....

pretend3r: haha... I know what you mean about work commitments. I am facing the same issue. Got the heart to learn but in between, I kept travelling which means a lack of practice. *sigh* I am not improving fast enough. Crying or Very sad
