A few of my friends will be betting amongst each other and they are amateurs about 95+, they wanted to include a Pro friend into the game. They thought about Saddam, but it would have been too much and unfair towards the game as its all against 1. Any kind suggestions? Sixes?

I was thinking of this but this means, the chances are that the pro still walks away with "jiak free" scenario. Coz, max you can only ask for is 3 strokes per 6s.

Level sure lose to pro, with his track record, he will likely score 1-2 under. Par all the way.... More over, blue tee and it short for him... sigh...

What is the objective of the game that is being fixed up in the first place?

Is it to take as much money from the pro as possible or vice versa?

Is it for the 3 players to match up and see where they stand in terms of having the pro as the benchmark?

Or is it to have this as an opportunity to learn from a better player at the cost of a golf game?

By knowg his strength n not wantg to lose, just ask fr 1-2-3.
Bt again, the 4 x par 3 three of you die die must par it or best a birdie coz he s higher possibility of gettg a bird! Enjoy the thrill bro. :-)

Firsty, I am going to assume that by Pro, you mean an actual Golf Professional (or former Golf Professional) and not a single handicap golfer (there difference is HUGE)

If you guys are shooting 95+ (approx 18 hcap), and the pro is playing from the same tee as you guys, ask for at least 7-7, preferably 9-9, i.e. 1 stroke per hole.

3 amatuers (18 hcap) vs 1 pro saddam ... yes it is unfair ... to the amatuers ... you guys will still need strokes otherwise no point playing at all ...

to get an idea about the disparity, take a look at any old scorecard which has all your scores on 1 card, then take the best score for each hole and see what you guys scored as a team (i.e. best ball approach). Chances are that it will not be anywhere near or below 72, which means even if 3 of them saddam the pro, they should still receive strokes.

Even a rusty pro who is having a really really bad day is going to come back in the high 70s. Otherwise, you are talking low 70s to high 60s when playing on course conditions meant for recreational golfers (like us).

Sounds like your friends might not have had a chance to play with a golf professional on the course before, especially when they are serious about competing/scoring. Trust me when I say they are at a different level. On a level basis, a 7-8 hcap golfer will have almost no chance against a Pro. Just like an 18 hcap golfer will have almost no chance against a 7-8 hcap (USGA handicap not GR handicap).

Although Golf Pros do not have a handicap, if you used their scores to calculate one, it would not just be 0. If they are playing regularly (not always the case as they have to teach to earn a living), chances are that they will be closer to a +2 or +3 handicap. i.e. If their Gross score is 71, their net score is going to be 73 or 74.

Bottom line, don't be shy about asking for strokes. Tell the Pro your actual scores, keep the bets friendly, and trust that he will have enough integrity to suggest the correct number of strokes to give you guys.

To make it friendly and equally enjoyable team game yet. Thats all. Not to be unfair to him or us.

I don't know how the scoring works. If your friends are playing in the 95+, wouldn't that make them 24 handicappers?

Pros, from all we know can easily play to Par or a few strokes below Par each round.

Are we talking about Match Play or Stroke Play here?

Even if your pro friend give you strokes based 24 handicap in a match play, you may still end up losers. How easy is it for you guys to play below 95 versus the pros to play below par.
