PostSubject: Mizuno Irons Custom Fitting   Fri Aug 16, 2013 10:00 am

Saw an ad about Mizuno fitting in Golf House this morning from a magazine, it says it takes 3 swing to determine the "DNA" of your swing and "fit" you accordingly. Anyone tried??? Any good???

If any of you had tried, how did the process go???

Mizuno has a device to be attached to the shaft while you swing the club. Am not sure how accurate is this device compare to say, Trackman.

I tried it before. It's only OK, if you ask me. I think nothing beats a proper fitter.

Also, when you get fitted (wherever that may be), you need do so as if you're really playing golf. Going there in your office attire or jeans and swinging the club may not produce optimum results.

So, while the equipment used at Mizuno isn't the greatest, the golfer also needs to take some effort Smile

Tried it when I bought my MP59 from Golf House. Measures swing speed and maybe tempo. Basic readings only. Ultimately it's the fitter's expertise that matters more.

Just tried it out not too long ago. It measures swing speed, tempo , toe down, release factor and kick angle. You do like 3 good swings then they take the average data and input it into the computer. The computer will then come up with a list of recommended shafts. Not sure how it compares to a full club fitting experience as I have not been to one but it is definitely recommended over just buying off the racks if looking for mizunos. I am not sure if the results are doctored to just show available shaft options from golf house only because I only see nspro recommended so can't comment on that. Accuracy wise, the swing speed is quite similar to those I got from other equipment like swing byte etc so I would think it is fairly accurate.

Went to the one at Marina (no more). Fitter was Jeff I think. Pretty good. Heard he is now with taylormade.

Yup got them. I went to the one at paragon and a Filipino staff attended to me. He did some lie angle with the tape and lie board and I was ok so he didn't really do any adjustments except change the shafts.

The fitting was very basic and didn't take more than 15-30 mins. They had a board which stated a 100 dollar charge if you don't buy after for the fitting. But I am not sure if they will implement that. Better ask first before you try the fitting if you have no intention to commit.

Are there fitters who can offer a range of mizuno irons for fitting? I.e. can try different mizuno heads on different shafts?

Depends on the brand, type of shaft you decide on eventually and which fitter you patronize ...

Maybe need to play awhile more till my swing gets consistent. Been playing quite often but still less than 2 months old player. Coach been helping quite a bit though so not too bad now. But still a little early right to get custom fitted?
