hi guys and gals.

just wanna ask around.

i am a beginner.

During my basic lesson. i got one driver from my coach.

is a 10.5 driver.

my furthest drive is only around 180.

What Driver is that, and how long have you been playing ?

It is usually the player and not the equipment.. Laughing

I played in range for 1 yr ler...
Driver still cannot make it... bery sad...
Though I can hit 200m but it goes left and right...
4 out of 10 balls straight oni. keke.
4 out of 10 balls slice right...
2 out of 10 balls fly left.

U got 180m not bad for a beginner..
practise more! Very Happy Be consistent more important..

U soon will be better.. mayb 200m in no time.

maybe i am lucky cause i quite big built so my friend did say i have a bit of advantage in the swing but my short game is killing me. i can drive the ball out of the tee but when chipping or delivering the ball to the green is not as simple as i think. haha.

i have a lot more to learn but just can say that I love this game...

if u dun know what driver brand and what specs it is on, then think u r not ready to get a new driver. juz focus on learning the swing from your pro first.

no offence pls.

kopiO is right, patience and keep practicing. Then splurge later when you know what you want. Why waste big bucks now and realize later it doesnt suite you.

most beginner golfers swing with an "over-the-top" type swing path.
thats mostly due to taking the club back too steeply(upright), and downswinging with that same angle instead of the initial address position.
maybe try a single swingplane, flatten the backswing, would promote a draw type shot, adding more distance.
cheers!
