At the airport now with time to kill ... so it is time for another essay ...
Been on the road for almost 2 weeks now and the last time I touched any golf clubs was almost a month ago, so understandably looking forward to some quality practice tomorrow.
The last game I played (Food Chain Games Part 2 - SHiC Shootout), my driver was more or less behaving, my Fairway Woods were fantastic BUT my ball striking with my irons was extremely poor. Was hitting every shot fat, even the short pitches into the green.
As a result of my travelling, and that there is nothing remotely resembling Golf Channel in Taiwan and Hong Kong, I have had a lot of time to think about my game and what I intend to practice when I get back.
This fat shot issue is not that new for me (it recurs from time to time) and I suspect a lot of it was probably due to swaying. In my case, that usually means a mild reverse pivot. So after making a few practice turns in the bathroom, and checking the motion of my hips in the mirror, I think I have a sense of what my body needs to do now.
As I had to rest my back, aside from the few slow turns in the bathroom, all that I have been able to do is to think/imagine/visualise what my swing would look and feel like in my mind every night before I go to bed. Hopefully I have been able to hypnotise myself into a more consistent swing.
Anyway, if I have a chance, I'll grab the camera I bought for my wife (aka HER Camera) that has HD Video and record my practice session and we can all take a look if imagining that I have a nicer swing can really translate into an improved swing (for me).
