There is no 'sloshing" and losing suction thus damaging injectors.

There are no air bubbles per se in the tank. What the shake and pump does is release the air that's in the overflow return pipe. Thus when you fill your tank NORMALLY the overflow return pipe fills up to the level in the tank. But since the filler pipe is above the tank and if you keep adding gas to the filler pipe, it will force the gas in the overflow to push out the air into the filler pipe. That's it's purpose, it allows pressure to equalize when the temp goes up and down so your tank doesn't stress.

BLUF: all it does is fill the miniscule space in the overflow pipe and a little in the filler pipe. Prob less than 1/10 of a liter at MOST. (.20 RMB) JHC!!!!!!

Hi KT, please tell me how I managed to slowly add another RM15 or 8 litres after the first auto stop from the pump?

Titu

squeeze the lever gently, and with some patient, eventually can added to that extra litres. No need to shake the vehicle.... it look silly and ugly leh

Thats what I did. I don't shake my car at all. Read my previous post. I was actually asking KT how come I can pumped in another 8 litres if he thinks that you can only pump in additional 1/10 of a litre when he said "Prob less than 1/10 of a litre MOST. (.20 RMB) JHC!!!!!! "(quote) I told him I can add another RM15 or 8 litres more by squeezing gently, stop pump, stop pump.

Good workout man, the humping lasted maybe ard 10mins. But if u guys wanna save. Might as well carry a spare container to contain the petrol la, no point shaking the car or what. In the long run, ur suspension might spoil prematurely and it defeats all the savings that u have made from shaking..

How could extra petrol equates suspension spoilt? scratch As for filling up an extra container, that one really asking for trouble. ONE, it could explode if 'suay suay' accident. TWO, It is considered smuggling of petrol into Singapore without paying tax SO FOR HEAVEN SAKE PLEASE DO NOT DO THAT !!! affraid

Always faster pump and zhao la. Not so safe in JB petrol kiosk even in the day also. Moreover, the petrol vapour is also carcinogenic

Hi Titu, it's a completely diff scenario. The pump and shake is to get those last pockets of air out of the filler and overflow tube as the tank nears full capacity. The reason you add another 8 liters is only because the pressure safety valve on the pump itself engages whenever there backpressure on the nozzle discharge rate meets the "click" point and the pump shuts off. This usually happens by filling the tank so quickly or against the wall of the filler tube that backpressure results. Nothing to do with the pump and shake.

My earlier statement and my explanation on how 8 more liters can be added stands true.

Cheers, KT

I think the owner will die of old age before the suspension is spoilt by the shaking. The suspension will spoilt thru natural usage rather than his human shaking. But to get the record straight I don't and never shake my car. I advocate lifting the nozzle slightly higher and continue to pump stop pump stop gently. Same as Walau's. If a car can be spoilt thru just shaking lets say twice a week I would trade it in for a bicycle. lol! Peace Not debating on this issue any more. Thanks for the friendly discussion. Peace

Peace bro Peace Never use my web for fellow golfers. Only Doc Octopus and the likes hahah lol! . I agreed with you and have practised gently pump stop since day one. How I came to this was that before resorting to that one day when my fuel tank was less than half full I went to a petrol kiosk and start filling. I was so surprise when I just pumped in a couple of litres when the auto stop got activated. I know the car can take in 10 times more than what had just got in. From there I learnt that the station pump sensor must be wrongly calibrated. Thats why the early stop. Thats how I realised that I can pump in more after the auto stop got activated. Cheers Beer

Titu

Rober all Titu, no harm, no foul. Just returned from Playing Legends this morning. Palm course closed, greens were 8.1, bumpy and obvioulsy sanded/top dressed within the past 2 or 3 weeks. Not nearly in tip top shape as it was when I last played there about 8 months ago. Then came back thru Tuas, no traffic till 1 accident on AYE inbound then another on CTE outbound. Glad I wasn't headed to the airport.........missed flight for sure.

Hoping for a game someday.

Happy Thanksgiving today and Have a great Holiday 3 day weekend! Cheers, KT
