So interesting.....can we ever have a "self-taught" vs "proper coaching" games day ? And see which group comes out tops.......hee heeeeee

Peace
"Proper" is the key word here. From my experience, coaching didnt help till I found the right coach. What I do think is that natural or home made swings generally suck. Find a competent coach to correct mistakes and then regular check ups to keep it on track. Trying to fix on your own will often make things worse.and take alot longer and many more rangeballs

rule no 1 = have fun
rule no 2 = have more fun

some ppl like to learn themselves, rather than spend $$ on a coach (hence the popularity of DIY). The have fun doing it, even if they dont play well (i gather the enjoyment is when they have some success without paying for it)

some ppl want to play well = get coach, cause for them playing bad is just more frustrations and is NOT fun. They want to have fun.

some ppl like to bet, the trill is fun (so much so they dont mind losing)

some want perfection and the aim of even lower scores = coaches, trainings, specialist coaches, fittings etc

some just want to hit 300m with their driver. They have more fun at the range than on the course.

Some just want the latest and best golf gear (and will even change their gear even if they are playing their best golf with their old stuff). They would rather buy every driver out there than spend $$ on a swing coach.

Do whatever u like, if it is fun for u. What is ur target and what are u willing to give (money, time, effort ??? )

Callaway Cleveland Titleist Taylormade Nike Golf

I'm the one who enjoys the different equipments & technologies, aka, Equipment Slut! Btw, the above are the brands I've tried not including those without the smileys:
Mizuno
Macgregor
Tour Edge
Adams
Bridgestone

HELP
Need Clubs-holic Anonymous! Anyone else?
ROFL

But seriously, when I was getting injured from overstraining myself, I seeked out a coach to change my swing & to prevent future injuries. Great investment! ... Now I'm back playing all the toys!

Jim Furyk < Exhibit A lol!

I am a replica of Jim Furyk swing. Like I said just a replica, have not achieved his abilities yet though lol! Never knew any golfers at all when I started my golf and only later when playing in a group did someone mentioned that I have Furyk's swing. Never realised I was doing it until that time haha Smile Well as long as it works Swing

'EQ-Slut' : Think the correct term is called Equipment-'Hoe'. 'Slut' sounds too sleezy lol!
