Is it important to use only conforming clubs and drivers during competitions? Will anyone check??

Anyway can one hit further or straighter with drivers that are non comforming?

Also does anyone has any site to check whether what clubs are conform and which are not?

Thks. Very Happy

It is in the appendix of the rule book. You can also look it up at usga.org and randa.org

That is. Sg follow the randa actually but both collaborates and are the same so tour players doing both europe and pga do not need to worry abt 2 sets of rules

are you eyeing for the HIO price for our charity event? Hahaha...

i am not too sure about that. If the event is important enough they might? HIO? I doubt they tee off with the driver anyway and it wouldn't have mattered right?

But I guess it is up to the tournament organisers to check and they have a right if they have specify clearly that they will be following the rules and list of conforming clubs/balls.

Not unless you use the driver on the par 3, there is no ruling for amateurs for irons, fw and hybrids as yet.

from what i have heard from the factories, they all have a hard time getting the grooves right and it seems that the traditional manufacturers have to shift their groove milling to the chinese factories who can mill them better.

just got back from the factory that makes geotech, some of the japanese iron models have to be send to china for groove milling.

also this groove is apparently not new. Maxfli was supposed to have made this a decade ago and it was not popular cos it did not create enough spin. Maxfli was bought up by Taylormade some years ago and i wonder if the big boy had anything to do with the ruling on groove.

If you are a weekend hackers, don't worry about the non-conforming bullshit stuff. Just enjoy your game.
