PostSubject: BLUE CANYON COUNTRY CLUB (PHUKET)   Tue Jan 14, 2014 5:42 pm

I will be sneaking in a quick game and seems that BLUE CANYON COUNTRY CLUB PHUKET is nearest to my hotel location.

Realised that there are two courses - Lake and Canyon. Buggie only applies to Lake it seems from the website. Does this mean that Canyon is only for walking..?

Any bros played there before and which course do you recommend?

Walk or cart you still should try Canyon course, played there many years ago. Nice course, especially the island green (down hill).

Wa indeed.. need to pay premium to play at blue canyon 5600b. Nearby 11km away, there is mission hills 4500 and phuket laguna 3600.....might venture out a bit further....

the other two courses...reviews?

I played mission hills Phuket before
Its green fees are more econmical and it reflects on the course cond and lay out.

I think depends on your budget and expected level of enjoyment. You pay for what you get

One local Phuket chap who played with me agrees that Red Mountain is the ultimate golfing experience in Phuket. You pay premium and also enjoy premium lay out and condition

Those who played Blue Canyon is of the view that it's hey days are over, so you may pay a bit more but expectations not met.

Choose wisely. If budget permits, I recommend red mountain!

Thanks pocketace bro for your advice.

In fact I considered red mountain earlier but too far from my hotel (3hr)

Sigh otherwise sure choose red mountain cos really heard good reviews from people who have been there...

I suggest you chat up the hotel staff to find someone to rent you a car.  There is one highway there and with a iphone or android map you will be able to get to any of the three course (Blue, Mission, or Laguna).

I played Blue and Mission a couple of years back.  Not to take anything away from Blue Mountain Canyon's great views, but it was x, I think about SGD250 at the time. The price included a 1hr massage after the game..

I found Mission Hill more relaxing than Blue.   I am a beginner and it is like a beginner's course.  I also felt the price better matched what you get (and better matched my playing level).

FYI Mission Hill is not rolly it is actually quite a flat course.

Anyways enjoy.
