Any bros out there owes one of this? Any review and comments?
For those we are not so interested, I think a free demo for them to clean your mattress and sofa isnt a bad deal.

http://www.kirby.com/

I was treated to a free demo at my home yesterday night for 2.5 hrs. The sales guy came with the machine and literally sucked every inch of my mattress, sofa, carpet and curtain. The amount of dust and sh*t returned to me was amazing. This company claims to be the leader in vacuum cleaners and I was totally impressed. The other amazing thing is the price tag, proposed to me last night for about 4000SGD.

I did some research and I found that they had a Kirby distributor in Singapore too.

Also, one of their competitors, with just as impressive a machine is Rainbow.

I am still shocked by how much dust and dirt is in my house....

Does Kirby uses water as well?

I went for Delphin because it doesn't require filter.
The Rainbow besides using water, also employs a hepa filter.

Like the idea of the constant suction pressure because it does away with the filter and the way the house is smelling nice and fresh after vacuuming.
I add either Dettol or Essential Oil to the water.

Ultimately, it is the ability to clean mattresses and such that got me sold.
Like Tiger said, the amount of dust picked up from mattress alone is amazing.

So we have some good reviews here! Cool!

No, Kirby does not use water as filteration, only relying on a 12,000RPM air-cooled motor for suction and a HEPA filter bag to collect the grime.

Upwards of 3 grand, paid in full, can't remember the exact figure.

I don't really fancy the idea of filters because I always have this imagination of dust, germs, bacteria and such festering in the filter as we don't change it every time. And the suction power gets compromised as lesser air can pass through the filter when it gets dirtier.

The vacuum head for the mattress is quite impressive, there is a power cable attached to it and once hooked on, it will pulsate to beat the mattress as it sucks.

Can detach the vacuum hose and just turn on the vacuum to filter the air in the room as well.

Cool! So the price structure I guess is the same for all of this heavy duty vacuum, including Kirby. Thanks for the headsup!

Locally, they have this scheme whereby you can rent the machine or hire their services, as in they come over and do the vacuuming for you without buying the machine.

The hire service is a great idea. Personally, I am impressed with the machine but too lazy to be doing all the sucking. Its better sometimes that a third party suck for you rather than you doing it on your own, by yourself.

I bought a German Vacuum cleaner "Miele" way back 1984 for $645.00 until today I am still using it. It's really made to last. Vacuum Suction 4 mode 300w, 500w 800w and 1000w. It also can do
blow dry similar 4 mode. I  used it to clear my aircon choke its just fantastic!

Wash my car engine and than used Miele Vacuum to blow dry the car engine.

Do not know how much it cost today?

I firmly believe that making ur environment too sterile is asking for trouble. A acceptable level of dust n filth around is fine..
There is some research, can google.. Kids in developed countries that r too clean tend to have more allergies in life..

I agree with this. Someone who lives in a sterile environment will not be able to develop natural immunity.

Of course, that doesn't mean we should let dirt flying around the house too. Industrial vacuum cleaners are designed as their name suggests - for industrial applications, generally heavy duty and multi-purpose.

I use a robot vacuum cleaner programmed to vacuum my place 3 times a week. This will remove 70-80% of dirt.

Then once a month, we use the regular vacuum cleaner to reach difficult parts, and mop the place. The robot is quite useful, because of its low profile, it can reach under the bed and sofa, for instance.

But....how is this related to golf? Except that when my robot is vacuuming my place, I can go and play golf?
