Yesterday at Seletar CC, after finished putting at a par 3 hole, while I still at the fringe of the green, a golf ball from the flight behind landed in front of me. There are really many barbarian golfers ....

Once, I was about to tee off on a par 4 when a ball from the adjacent par 3 hit me on my back. The player behind me hooked his tee shot. I did not hear any warning shout from him. He came over sheepishly, did not apologize and asked if I want to keep his very used ball as a souvenir! I put it down to him being a beginner golfer who did not know etiquette and consider it a blessing that I was not hit on the spine, neck or head. We cannot take safety for granted.

Very fortunately you were not hurt. I think this group of barbarian golfers are always there. It is better that we always keep high alert of the flight behind, although this means we are unable to have 100% focus on our game. We can relax only when there is no flight behind.

Agree that we should keep alert of group behind. We should also do our part to ensure we keep pace with group in front thus giving no cause for the group behind to press. But if we are slow and fall one hole clear of the group in front, then we should invite the group behind to pass or else speed up play.

This afternoon met such flight behind hitting shots while my flight was clearly still on the green, twice! Was at Marina golf course, only the second time when we turned back and looked at them, one of them then drove up and apologized.
If u in this forum, u know who u are, both guys in orange shirts with a gal. That's not the way to play golf, there was still another flight in front of us and don't expect us to behave liked u guys firing warning shots just to pressure them. If u think we are holding play, call for the marshal.

They dressed machiam liked "pro" but they way they behaved on course???Maybe want to impress gal, if not for my flight mates I was ready to pick up the ball and throw it away. If this happen in Sembawang, and once Marshall notified they will be red card!

At Seletar, you can file a complain and the golfer will most likely be suspended for x months.

I think not only Seletar or Sembawang lah.

If one hole, they overshoot and come up and apologized, I can let it go. But if subsequent holes still like that, sorry I will made a complained

If want to file a complain, that means a person has to waste his precious time to do so, esp for subsequent meetings/hearings. Personally, I would not want to waste my time on this type of barbarian golfers.

kim001, if all golfers think alike, then no one will be complaining and the perpetrators will just continue to do what they have been doing. Each of us must do our part to get these dangerous golfers out of the course, at least temporarily. Cheers!
